Harry was the first person I ever talked to on these rides and I'm grateful to have gotten to know him better since that first night. He made me feel welcome then and since picking up BBD's trailer duty he's taken one for the team damn near every night of the week.
I don't have any uncles, but if I did....I'd want them to be just like Harry.

good question! I was about to leave on a flight at work and the trip cancelled, like tonight!! I had heard about this bicycle group known as MR and as I had 'no plans' afterall I was supposed to fly out, I looked them up and went on my first ride-The Clown ride!!!

actually, and you are not going to believe it, but I've been here so long I'm not usually aware, crazy as it may seem, that I have an accent. I did, however, use it the other night with the sheriff to convince him that I in fact did not run a red light. Hence a ticket only for loud noise, apparently??!!
On rare occasions I've had women say, "I love your accent!". This only makes me feel that that's all I have to offer..........hmm maybe that's it!!
I would run for local office of somekind to try and change things on a local level before venturing into higher office, so, say mayor???

Marcus-A good quesition....It depends on where it/they/we want to take it. Like a tree there are many branches and ways to go. If we want more people, what Michelle was alluding to might increase numbers, more girls means more boys which means more girls and so on. Our group philosophy, however, might need to adjust. I do think though that in order to attract more people to the culture we need safer bicycle ways and they come from winning over those in power and if we become a nuisance it lessons the chances of that happening.

I think it means 1) finish your beverage and 2) 'tickets please' is as quaint Old English term whereby the conductor on a form of public transport - generally London double-decker buses - request some form of proof that you have the ability to travel on your chosen form of transport.

Never been to a Gary G concert, LOL, should I be glad??
I've flown through the base of the arctic circle going to Europe. THe routing is a higher latitude depending on the air temp, winds and pressure systems. On the way home one time we landed in Frobisher Bay near the artic circle for a fuel stop. After take of we lost an engine, returned for landing there, minus 40 degrees on the ground and had to spend a few days there while they fixed the bird!! It's like Ice Station Zebra in the winter!!!

Another testament to Harry's durabilty: he gets clocked in the head by a bottle, comes out a night or so later and rides a tandem at RIDE-Arc, comes out the next day with the trailer for Los Angelopes and almost gets his eye poked out by Marcus' horns.

I just have to say. It's been almost a year since I met so many cool people who are part of the cycling comunity that loosely is midnightridazz and although I have lost friends due to my cycling habit, those I have gained have impacted me so positively it literally moisens my eyes! HARRY SAVES THE DAY AGAIN!!
The man is so giving and so helpful. These chrome bag straps with the car seat belt buckles can twist on you and become a conundrum of sorts, like an unsolvable rubik's cube or something... This happened today at the Rendondo Harbor while we were waiting for our food. And here comes harry out of his seat and rushes to the task of solving this puzzle. The guy must be able to multi-task amazingly through the atuto pilot stages of flight. Wow. Harry untangled the messy strap and reversed it and then he undid that and brought it back to normal. Truly amazing. You're a good Lad Harry.

Harry has been in the hospital for almost two weeks now. (Entered two Friday's ago, July 4th--a bit ironic, huh?)
A new round of doctors has determined a bulging disc in his back is pinching a nerve and they concede their is no evading surgery.
He goes into surgery tomorrow @2pm.
I will be bringing him a bottle of Jack Daniels (at his request) tomorrow around 4pm. If you would like to join me on the train to Burbank, let mw know here. (I'll probably take the train from downtown, civic center, but am flexible and could go from Hwood, too.)
If you can't visit today, or tomorrow, or the next day, keep the words of encouragement (stories, entertainment, etc) coming. We don't want him going crazy lonely in there!
