its more like twenty now. but yah. three more! hell ya! tallbike ride. bike gang. etc. yes! excited. I've experenced the reactions on the street with 1, 2, and 3 tallbikes. i cant wait to see what happens when we ride 6+ deep.
this was my tallbike, sold it to someone that was going to ride it on MR rides but never did. he wants to sell it back to me and Im considering it. not the easiest to ride on long rides, especially when there is incline. really likes to weelee!
he is going to let me borrow it for the Doo Dah Parade
Was thinking of getting one for desert riding.
As long as the days aren't windy as hell, I'd use it everyday.
Hell, it might just be the ticket to starting an MR movement up here.

im sorry you dont get my point. you have the word colossus in your nickname and you make a pretty silly comment about tall bikes. so what are guys that give themselves large nicknames compensating for?
also, I thought only chicks made comments like that and it was usually about guys that drive fast cars or big 4x4 trucks.
@ Leo: Sweet hey zeus man, lighten up. I know all these tall bikers...personally. And am friends with some of them. I have no problems with tall bikes. I was joking...making a jest.
real suggestions... where can i build a tall bike. do i need to learn welding or what? also, when you're riding a tall bike and you come to a stop, what the fuck do you do?
If you can't find a pole or a wall, then you just have to hop off. It's pretty easy to hop off. I did it when I was in Portland when I was shit-faced...so can you.
From some college kid's blog: "There are a few common methods. One has three options: climbing down, in the same way one climbed up, pulling up to a tall stationary object and dismounting, or using the classic jump and crash method."
For my sake, I'll just tote along a couple of helper poles.
With rubber tips on the floor-ends, I'll hook these to the middle of the bike at a stop, then hop off.
The fixed-object grab looks pretty healthy as well.
Just a heads up. There's a few plans for building a tall bike on the Make magazine site. There's one that could be viewed as a "safety" bike and possibly pass the CVC code. Sorry I don't have the link, but I can track it down if you can't find it.
theres a guy by the name of Mike Mooney that makes the tallest of the tall. He had a book out about making all kinds of ridicolous things think it was called Atomic Zombie.
You want to build tall bikes? I build tall bikes. I'm going to build 8 20/20 tall bikes for the next event, after I finish my soapbox car. Perhaps a tall bike build off day? If you guys need some frames, let me know.
How about a four-wheeled, recumbent, tall-bike that you could drive over a car with?
I was thinking a stand-alone, chassis that I just throw the EZ-1 on top of, and use it as a powertrain.
I have a couple of Schwinn Varsity frames to stack, but no welding equipment. I know how to do basic arc, wire feed, or gas welding. If someone's going to throw a clinic or offer up the means to fabricate, I'd like to get in on that.
i'm thinking more like bentstrider; tall bikes are cool, but they're just the tip of the freak-bike iceberg........or freakberg
It would be rad if there was someplace where we could work on shit. I would be willing to pay a small monthly tidbit for some warehouse/shop space. If everyone put in we could have a cheap freak shop for those of us that don't have garages

I always thought what would be cool would be a warehouse that would also be the living space for a few people. The warehouse would house a few travel trailers, around 20-30 feet in a semi circle.
