Our own bike awareness ride for the hell of it!
A nice leisurely ride around town to remind drivers that we have every right to use the streets. A casual ride throughout the cities of the IE to exercise the laws that mandate that the same rules of the road applies to pedal pushers as well as SUVs and monster trucks.
Tentatively planned for the 3rd Friday of the month at 6pm. Meet location is in front of the REI in Rancho Cucamonga. (We won't actually start riding until 6:30 for you stragglers).
Bring lights (the more, the better), a lock for you bike, a helmet (required if you're under 18), weather appropriate clothing (we ride, rain or shine) and cash for food/coffee after the ride.
Let's see if we can grow this thing and inspire people that bikes are a great way to get around!
909, 951, come out and represent!

And remember 3rd saturdays are the East End Ridazz, not quite the IE, but not too far from rancho either... so come on out to us, I'll try to make the IE.
i'm from the SGV and will try to make it out. good to see u guys are starting something up. is it hilly in Rancho? any fun spots u guys usually hit up?
I live in Rancho and ride a fixie up and down the hills every day, its a gradual hill from Foothill up, starts to get evil above the 210. We should mob Victoria Gardens and roll out to Upland or Claremont via Church or Arrow,. We will definately get fucked with rolling through the Gardens though. I got a ticket for not parking my bike in a bike rack!
mrzeta, i've had issues with the bike security at VG, too. luckily, i just got a warning and no ticket.
this is the tentative route: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=740841
from the REI down Foothill to Vineyard. Break there at the Coffee Klatch, up to Baseline, break at RC Central Park then back to REI. so it'll be a little under 11 miles. kinda short, but we're expecting various types of riders so we didn't want to make too difficult.
i'm planning to pre-ride it, probably on tuesday evening.
Ill try print out some generic critcal mass flyers at work, the "who we are" ones i have from some other crtical mass and put info with a link to the myspace and critical mass site. - What time you riding? I dont get off work till 10:00 but im willing to scout the route with ya. Hit me up - jesse.zazanis@sjvc.edu.
My bad fuzz....I told you that the ride is being moved to another date. I had some premature info. The first ride will remain on this Friday...from what I know, the others will be moved to the Friday before our ride. I will be out at the CR ride, and then I'm driving out to the Warriorzz ride. Want to drive out with me?
tern, got the message. no worries. big turnout for us. we had 30 riders! people representing from glendora, laverne, ontario, chino, fontana, pomona, covina, rauncho and even palm springs. yeah! cool! see ya next time ;)
I always seem to miss y'all by a day.
Perhaps we'll meet face to face one of these days.
Because I sure as hell have had no luck forming a Victor Valley CM.
So, anyone else from the High Desert reading this, we should consider our branch dissolved into the IECM effective immediately.
It seems all the monster trucks y'all speak of, flee up here when chased out of the IE.
I understand that Critical Mass serves a purpose and is an important ride. But some one should stop private messaging people on different forums and such telling people that Sins and Sprockets rides suck while trying to lure people to critical mass with free alcohol. I don't think it's appropriate to name names here *coughcoughsexycoughcough*. Excuse me. I had something go down the wrong pipe. All clear now. I suppose I should say who this dirtbag is but that would just be rude.
What, are you crazy!?! I don't think any amount of alcohol would lure someone from LA all the way out to the IE just for a bike ride. More likely to happen the other way around.
The opposite does happen, Indeed.
I mean, I'm not going to travel all the way from the desert down to the basin and not leave a little tipsy now.
That's just plain rudicrous.
What made me read this thread? I don't know, but I'm glad I did.
So who is this hipster_sucks, could it be the same person as ,BillyBikeBob. If I messaged you, why don't you tell me to my face, if you got issue with me..
Maybe you where at the last SIn's N' Sprockets ride, talking a gang of non-sense about me, with everybody else. Just like all of those people, you won't say it to my face, if you got an issue with me. Whats you all scared of, ME? You can hide behind a false identity and accuse me of things that make no sense what so ever. Good for you.
Really? What are you talking about. I don't have anything to do with IE CM? I'm not luring anybody to this ride. I let people know about a ride happening in my neck of the woods, that I have nothing to do with. As a matter of fact, I'm making a sacrifice, missing my favorite ride, sin's n' sprockets, to try to help see some bike fun happen where I live.
I wonder if this is the same person who tried to hit my girlfriend when I'm not around, and then ask me about "how we are doing" to my face?
You calling me a dirtbag. Please people, quick your hiding?
Oh you'll probably accuse Sexy of being Hipsters suck.
You read this thread because you are guilty as charged.
You know who I am. Think back a few months. I'm the guy you called a no good newb who had no respect for you because you are so stuck on yourself you have to pull a seniority card. You've done it time and time again to more people than you can count. You are also the last person on earth who should be saying things like "tell me to my face". You are the king of back stabbing. Now that it's coming back to you you have a problem with it. You will just have to learn to deal with it. Stop starting shit and shit won't find it's way back to you. Talking shit about you with all those people? Gee wizz wally, how many people are you pissing on? I know it's me, and all the guys from Sins and Sprockets, and guys and girls at "bike fixing establishments". Did I leave anyone out? I'm sure I did. I bet there are a few more I don't know about yet. Trust me when I tell you that it's better off this way. I'm probably the last person you want to introduce them self to you. It took a lot of restraint on my part the first time I met you. Sometimes it's hard to not jam a stick in your spokes on rides. In the tradition of keeping things peaceful I mind my own.
Maybe I got the ride wrong but you know very well what you've done. It's one thing to try and help a ride out but to talk shit on people who do great things for the riding scene in LA is just plain disgraceful! I'd never hit a girl. You included. The girl you are with is very nice. I just don't know what she sees in a tard like you. I have no clue how to "quick" my hiding but good luck with that. You are no hipster. Your not good enough for that. You do suck though.
Myself neither.
Last thing we need is some rhetoric-filled altercation at an event.
Everyone having a slamming time, then KABOOM, some knucklehead drops the FBomb in the wrong place and kills everyone.
Perhaps the endorphines from a sprint will calm things down.
It could mean alot of things to tell you the truth.
F-artbomb, F-lipflopbomb, F-annypackbomb, F-irebomb,
F-ixie'n'forget'it'bomb, F-ordFSeriesgoesuplikeabomb,
F-undementalExpressionbomb, F-orgiveness-taken-backbomb
F-uckinFlatInTheMiddleOfTheBramblePatchbomb.
It could go on forever!!!!
While we're at it, may I suggest the F-bombproof kit.
Composed of the highest-quality, sound-proof headphones that will block out 98% of that shit that may make you want to cry.
But, then again, booze should've already sorted this shit out long-ago.
Not text you dumbfuck. I don't have your number. I don't know who sarah is. Sarah Mclelon? That's the only sarah I know. She doesn't ride a bike. It makes no difference. Your an ignorant ass. I'm sorry I posted this in the wrong thread. By the way, I have no problem with my clock. So what ever you were trying to imply makes no sense. Good luck with your lawn mower?
