Yeah, we ride by night and we love the drama, but you owe it to yourself to get out during the day right now.
This weekend is stunning.
I rode to San Pedro yesterday to help install an art show I'm in.
Left home at 7:30 am and rode down to Seal Beach, accross Long Beach on the beach bike path and took Anaheim st. to Pedro, laughing to myself all the way at the ridiculously beautiful day. All along the route the bike paths were full of people walking, cycling and running.
After the installation I grabbed a cup of joe at Sacred Grounds and rode back home, arriving a little after 5 pm.
Pretty much a perfect day.

Today is just as nice Leslie. And yes it was an awesome day yesterday.

I don't know if Leslie misses the old Sacred Grounds, but I do.
I rode out
from Pedro yesterday at 6:30 am and never has the Figueroa Corridor looked so lovely.
P.S. Which art show? Give yourself a plug, already.

OK. The exhibit is:
"Change'd"
The Los Angeles Assemblage Group
The Loft Gallery
4th & Mesa, San pedro
Reception Thursday, Feb. 5, 6 to 9 pm.
I'm showing 3 assemblages.
Two of them are bike related.
I never visited Sacred ground's original site.

Yeah, PC!
I was hoping I'd run into you yesterday.
6:30 am?
Judging from your late night activity on the board, that's way early for you.
So what, you didn't sleep Friday night?

I ran into PC in Pedro on the first Thursday once! We should do a ride out to Pedro on this!
I'll head it up. Leslie can wine and dine us! Free wine for all!! Oh yeah and lots of cool galleries giving you wine and cheese and stuff.

Unfortunatly, the Loft gallery is up some rickety stairs, so they have banned alcohol at the receptions.
Other galleries will be serving, however.
And I'm thinking of riding over early and getting some refreshments before hand, if anyone wants to join me.
First thursdays in Pedro-many galleries and artist studios hold receptions with refreshments.

WHAT!?!?!?!?
The Loft has been serving for years. Now they aren't? That's so like a city government to do something like this. Even though there's an elevator to take for the drunks.
I'll be joining you Les. Meet at Long Beach Blvd and Anaheim? I'll show you where LaHarr and PC live if they don't show up.

Right you are! So I went out on a ride through Downtown, where I was randomly & briefly detained by Louis as I rolling down 3rd St. He kindly forced a beer on me and in a ironic twist I was subjected to several seconds of the Super Bowl (see "super bowl?" thread) including about 400 commercials.
From there I rode through Chinatown and over the top of Elysian Park where I enjoyed the last light of the day before returning home. A splendid time indeed.
Good luck on your show, Leslie.

Leslie I'm down to ride in the day, I love SP and Palos Verdes, have a ticket to prove it.

Danny,
It will be hard to top riding Palos Verdes in the middle of the night, fixing flats in the dark and stuff, but this weekend would have been the day to try it for sure.

Leslie,
Is this going to posed up as a ride or just a few people rolling? I suggest just posting this up as a ride that starts at the Anaheim Blue Line station, yeah? Anyone from LA could easily make this and get back with plenty of time.
