When frumble and I drove through Bombay Beach on Friday morning, we saw some film crew shooting a post-apocalyptic Western right where Franz took that picture of Nicole. I'm 100% sure that Franz's pic tells a better story than whatever they were filming. Nice work.

I want towliesbong's photography, in the worst way. So much. I think we kind of stand on the ends of the digital film see-saw. I shoot nothing but digital, and towliesbong shoots almost nothing but film. Those two shots sort of typify digital vs film - to me anyway - and I want the film one.

I'll work on getting the frame if someone can print a nice pic on good paper. I was thinking a used frame with some character. A good find at a thrift store just might be the ticket. Unless someone has a frame already.

hey that's a great idea Alan... Moth was the best, especially for hosting us and hosting the Weed Conference 2009 at his amazing spot. I have the high res, I will print it out for you.
Great, let me track down a frame. I like the idea of some kind of weather beaten frame. We might even look into making the picture look all old fashion and stuff. Not too over the top in the old fashion look, just a little beaten.
But yeah, it would be nice to get something to him.

fuck! i want to do europe but i requested all my time off for the year already! i'll go if you go next year! it's a lot cheaper in the winter, yah? also, i feel like we need to show some san diego love soon! it's the easiest of awesome easy trips.
it's a long way off, BUT I was thinking, we could do a group buy on tix for next year or perhaps late summer (winter obviously is a no go) then set up a paypal subscription account that everyone subscribes to at say $100 a month. by the time the trip rolls around we will have all the money in the account for the group buy. we stay at hostels with group rooms.....
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE to hit the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden (bicycle utopias!) Germany perhaps....
burning man is cool and I've been tempted to go... but I've decided it's not for me.... what I liked about salton sea is that it was a more personal affair with people who share a lot of common interests... burning man already had it's hey day back in 1999 and probably years before that when it was a small group of people roaming the desert....
I don't wanna do anything but look at Salton Sea pictures and ride bikes, foreverandeverandever. You all inspire me to get a good camera and start taking better pictures. To really know what the hell I'm looking at, how to make it look better. I JUST LOVE THEM.
There are three things in line in front of a new camera, on the checkout counter:
Another road bike.
A record player that does not resemble a toy.
A proper drafting table.
It is decided. We will go to Europe. The only real debate is the specifics of where/when/how.
That said, I NEED MOAR PICTURES FROM THIS WEEKEND. Seriously, all I can do is sit here, look at them, and grin like an idiot. You people and your photos make me so happy it's ridiculous.
BUMP. I wish these photos all came out slower. I can sit down and look at a book full of the greatest photos in the universe and my eyes glaze over after 20 or so. I feel like we didn't all truly appreciate how fucking amazing some of this work is by the MR photogs.
By the way, on the Flickr set I tried to put together a complete list of all the photos I'm aware of. For Sarah's I had to link to her Flickr account, since there was no set.

WHAT IF we compiled a buncha photos from all the ridazz trips.... picked the best ones and made a Ridazzz Family Trip Slide Show set to awesome music.... all wonder years style... and maybe some gr8 short video clips of precious moments and submit them for the BFF!! doh... ok we missed that deadline it was 3/17 but we can submit it for Bike Porn.....6/1/09 is the deadline! maybe a Ridazz "peep show" all photoz and effects! yah!
