HELLO THERE!
As many of you who already know me. I have a passion for cycling
For those that don’t know me, my name is Pete Porras.
Mountain bike riding is one of the biggest passions in my life. I just love being outdoors hitting the trails.
It is all about good friends, great family and life on 2 wheels.
About me (more info)
I live in Eagle Rock in So Cal.
I have been riding mountain bikes for a few years now. I enjoy organizing, leading, and organizing local rides/tours in my community.
I ride all the local trails like El Prieto in the San Gabriel Mountains, Chesebro and La Tuna Canyon.
I organized a local beginner bike pump track in my community. The locals riders where very excited to have a place to ride.
The local Fire Dept, city youth organizers, local bike shops, kids and their parents all loved the idea.
The local kids made good friends and had a place to ride (staying out of trouble).
With your help I can fulfill a dream
I want to make a dream reality. I am committing to competing in the 2011 mountain bike racing season.
Times are tuff and I am saving money to purchase a replacement mountain bike to race. (My previous mountain bike was ridden hard, It ended up with a damaged frame and fork so- it died!)
I am hoping you can help me out with a donation. (Here is the link: http://bit.ly/dMCXN2 )
Any and all help is really appreciated. Gear, a few dollars and or race support would be awesome.
My goal is to finish top 3 in the 2011 season (in my category and discipline- downhill MTB).
I will be racing in 11 races with my friend Erwin. Most of my races will take place in Fontana Ca (A Schedule for 2011 is posted on my Facebook page.
You will be right there with me as I attempt to accomplish my goal.
I will provide up to date news, progress reports on the racing season. I will add video and photos updates
