from James Corbett and James Evan Pilato's "New World Next Week" podcast
This rally is being performed by the court jesters of the control fake progressive left and it's their reaction the Glen Beck/ Sarah Palin rally of just a few weeks ago. Whenever we talk about this and we made reference to this in the last couple of weeks I believe in referring it to the situation in France that there never seems to be any mass mobilization here in the States unless of course some corporate talking head tells us to do it.
We like throwing out the references to really break down the connections of Daily Show and Jon Stewart.
Kevin Bleyer Head of the writing staff of the Daily Show member of the Council On Foreign Relations, and who is also an Obama speech writer. The other thing to note about Jon Stewart, if you head over to his Wikipedia page you learn that his brother Larry Liebowitz is presently the Chief Operating Officer of the New York Stock Exchange.
Stewart is the perfect person to put people 'back into the box' where they would have been concerned about what is going on around them ,but now they have this big media figure telling them to 'RELAX, It's OK, be SANE, don't get UPSET about TRILLIONS of Dollars being LOOTED out of the economy by the BANKSTERS and their friends. Its all GOOD. Just be SANE, don't get ANGRY about anything'. So it's just so obvious the psy-op this is. We point out the Bleyer and CFR relationship, but does that really surprise anyone, all that the Daily Show ever does is talk to Council on Foreign Relation guest and talk to other establishment stooges, it just a ridiculous psy-op and just more of the warfare and war on everybody's mind that is going on right now. And that the key, it's just a war of everybody consciousness right now. When Jon Stewart announced this rally a few weeks ago To Restore Sanity, the thing he used to illustrate the complete insanity of American politics is people who bring up crazy 9-11 questions, when he held up the sign that said "9-11 was an inside job" this also ties in again with the Controlled Left that has no tolerance for any questions concerning the official conspiracy theory of 9-11.
did you watch it sexy? Or are you just reading the paranoid reviews of it.
I saw the whole thing and i thought it was fucking brilliant!
The point of this massive performance art is that the very way that people in power are able to get away with these outrageous acts is that irrational FEAR is used to manipulate people.
They said we had to invade Iraq and Afghanistan and created all these fear scenarios why it had to be done. The bail outs ... "Our whole economy would collapse with out them" etc etc etc.
Meanwhile the main stream media plays along, because getting people riled up sells air time and sells commercials.
Yes John Stewart is left leaning ... but his criticism points succinctly at fear mongers throughout the spectrum. Any crappy wannabe dictator can stoke fears to insist that people follow their line of thinking hence the very worst will happen.
What we find over and over again is when we do the sensible thing like educate people, get more people involved, have logical reasonable (if not heated) discourse, we get a better result for our democracy.
People from the far right and far left have been screaming for years that its all about to end. Every time we have an earthquake or a storm the right wing zealots want to say its because we dont kill gay people for kissing, because we allow Brittany to do sexy dances, because we don't shut down pornhub.com. Because we let women have self-determined reproductive decisions. These pathetic fear mongers have been trotting bullshit like this for decades. Now its gays and muslims, in the 50's-60's it was Blacks and Communists, and before that women.
There is always a boogie man to justify oppression / repression.
I will agree with one thing in that review Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert do function as court Jesters in the sense that in many cultures throughout history the only person that was allowed to speak the truth to power because they used humor. They'd make subconscious suggestions to the king through humor and absurdity.
Watch this!
3 hours long - and Commercial free.
And at moments fucking funny (because its true)
Yes I transcribed that myself word for word. I thought it would kept it originally of quoting others peoples words, maybe I should have plagiarized it and put it in my own words.
trickmilla, no I didn't watch the rally but I will check out pornhub.com, thanks for the heads up.
I saw pictures from Westlake Village park of people sitting in lawn chairs.
Yes people say it is going to end. (I think they are talking about the quality of life that we had in the US, that is slowly being dissipated) They see the destruction that is being put fourth (but not in the way you portray it). I have been fortunate enough to be exposed to that same education. Not the gays or the sex caused calamities. It is things like the passage of NAFTA and GATT, (the result is massive unemployment, and mass immigration, look around at all your friends and neighbor with all the gainful work they have, look at all the immigrants who have brought down the standard of living by taking a job for a cheaper rate. Now please don't go crazy saying that I'm anti-immigrant, I'm not. I understand why people come to the US, especially from Latin American countries (although that is not the only part of the world we have immigration from) there is just a whole pool of immigrant labor that will work for a lower rate and allow themselves to put up with abusive employers, then most people born here will. They are more hungry and it that only makes sense that will put up with less wages and worse conditions. This bring down wages for all the working class.) Why is so many Mexican immigrants here, that because NAFTA lowered their standard of living or the availability to make a living in Mexico. It shut down many small farms in Mexico in which US agriculture conglomerates took-over and expanded. GATT shut down many factories here in the US and the newly formed maquiladoras in Mexico and moved them to China. Starving both US and Mexico economies.
There is many more examples I could give, regarding monetary examples, war on drugs example, and now the anti-privacy and homeland security measure that our being used against people in this country. Those our the things that the far left and far right our talking about. The talking heads only point out the examples that you are talking about, the examples of extreme crazy ideas. That makes people that listen to those talking heads think as you write, that they (far left and right) are crazed lunatics. That keeps people who hear that away from looking at the deep critical thoughts and analyzing they may have on legislation and policy being implemented.
Those things that are being talked about don't destroy our society overnight, it is more a slow burn that is happening to us. Think of the overused "frog in the boiling water vs, the water being slowly heated up" example.. It's happened with the trade treaties I talked about, it happened with the war on drugs, it happened with the Federal Reserve Act, it happened massively and quickly with the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act. Supreme court rulings eliminating the 4th amendment to the Bill of Rights.
The only problem the extreme left and extreme right has is that they don't always see, how it is a slow burn situation, they just see the destruction it is going to cause, they freak out at the horrible legislation and think it is going to happen over night. They don't see the resolve that can be created from it. I guess people can be slow learners, but that is where the need for long discourse takes places.

"but that is where the need for long discourse takes places"
I'm pretty sure that was he point of this rally.
Aside from all the spectacle, humor and absurdity, the point of this thing is that if we base our discourse on facts, science, and rational discussion, we will have a better chance at having our political process represent the wishes of the American people.
I'm pretty sure whoever you were quoting didn't see the event either. The statement quoted is just a rant with no specific references to back up their conclusion, which was obviously made before ?estlove even riased his drumsticks to start the show.
Sexy, watch the thing, then we can have a rational discussion about its content.
Rationally is very radical when we have so many theocrats trying to run the world based on superstition and religion.
I think this conservation has been rational so far. Yes, the words where spoken before the rally. I don't find The Daily Show or Steven Corbert show to be that entertaining to watch it for three hours. It has it's moments and is entertaining every now and then, but I doubt it is worth my time to watch it for bits and pieces. There is so much more hard hitting journalism that can teach so much more in a shorter time then can be found from these two. I did watch the previews on Democracy Now today.
Regarding what the host I quoted, said. There was specific reference to come up with the conclusion that where drawn. Who writes for the show, the host, and their connections to those in power and the guest they have in regards to the power that they have in shaping policy us policy.
I remember Jeremy Scahill being on the Daily Show
http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-april-19-2007/jeremy-scahill,
of an example of how The Daily Show try to make themselves look like they are speaking out against the unpopular US policy while actually making excuses of why these policy are necessary. You can hear Stewart mention that Bush only has another year and a half, like that was going to change anything. As the future tell us, only thing that has changed is what the operations are being called.
Thats the point of what was said by the host I quoted to look at Stewert and Corbrett critically, read between the lines and not just take everything they say as gospel.
Here is 13 minutes review from one of the person I quoted. He talks about Stewart's feel good ending speech, about people working together and then shows how what happen when you bring up discourse to Stewart and his producer and writer.
