I've seen some bikes that have the gears fixed. Some of them are so cool looking...they have nice colors...and some of them have mag wheels (I have seen a couple with a mag wheel and a regular spoke wheel...talk about creativity!) Anyways, I think I would like to buy one of these types of bikes. I would like to get one that fits me...and I like the mag wheels. But, I probably wouldn't want to get white mag wheels because they could get dirty really quick. It's such a cool thing to see a bike with fixed gears going down the street. I have even seen a bunch of them by now. I saw one in a store by the American Apperel store in LIttle Tokyo. That one had two different colors of wheel centers..and the handle bars and pedals were yellow. I like that one, but it was kind of expensive. It seems like a whole new type of riding. Pretty cool.

 I have also seen bikes that they take the gear shift levers off of. But, I think I would like a real bike with fixed gears.

 tern, you are in the best part of florida for amazing thrift store bicycle finds!! go inland and scoop up some vintage treasures and ship them back to your friends on the west coast.

it's only been a few years since i lived in central florida and i remember well how many nice 80's era steel 'racing' were sitting around on their original tires - just had to find the really rural thrift stores.
