Talk to me about Brooks saddles.

Thinking of putting one on a bike. Trying to decide which model. As people who know me know, I ride rather aggressively. So I don't really think one of the "comfort" ones will work for me. Probably looking at something slimmer, like the B17 Narrow.

But wonder how this compares to the Swift, Swallow, Team Pro, or Colt...?

(I've read the online descriptions and various reviews, so I have a basic sense of the differences, but wondering if anyone on here has first-hand experiences to share.)

For me, it took forever to break it in to my butt cheeks. In fact, it was probably more the other way around. Buy the leather conditioner they sell, or something to help it along. Short of gaining 50lbs im not sure what expedites the break in period. Personally I prefer synthetic saddles but these have earned quite a reputation...

I don't buy into the whole breaking it in to the ass shape as much as some....I have 2. one is the b68 shown here which i really like for my bike with touring bars cuz it's got a wider space for your ass....on my road bike i picked up a used vintage brooks that's sorta shaped like the b17 and I really like it as well. I would go for either of them. I got my b68 on amazon with free shipping and no sales tax for around $90 i think. If i remember correctly, you ride somewhat in an upright position so either seat should work for you.

You are also fairly skinny, so a wide saddle may not be a good fit. I own a B17 and have ridden a Team Pro. The Team Pro feels a lot like my Turbo saddles but better. Wide saddle like the B17 are touring saddles and are probably too much for you because you do ride aggressively. I had a B17 Narrow, it was ok. I think the Team Pro was super, but all our butts are different.

Another thing to consider is your handle bar height in relation to your saddle. If the bar is lower then saddles like the Pro, Swift, and Swallow will be good choices. If the bar is as high or higher than the saddle then a B17 might work.

I've got standard B17s on two of my bikes, and an Imperial (which is a narrow B17 with a cutout and lacing) on my newest bike. I'm very happy with them - I found them comfortable right away, although getting the angle right seems critical.

i have a B17 special on my fixie whip and its still in the process of breaking in since i dont really ride as much as i use to. but as far as the breaking in process its fairly comfortable and as mr rollers said, finding the right angle on your saddle is very crucial.

im thinking maybe my next saddle will be the selle an atomica titanico x but thats far in the future.
