What sort of recommendation does it have to be?

Brief and simple, or hard and fact-covering?

Reminds me of all those background checks I faced whilst trying to, and failing to get into, the CDCR's correctional academy.

WORRYING AND BEING ANGRY OVER SOMETHING YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER RIGHT NOW, SERVES NO PURPOSE.

CONTEMPLATING WHAT YOU CAN DO LATER WHEN THINGS MOVE IN YOUR DIRECTION, WOULD BE MORE BENEFICIAL.

I don't want to sound like Captain Obvious here, but have you tried calling the school? The admin staff may be there year round, and they'll probably have the teachers' contact info, or be willing to pass your messages along. If they're out, you can definitely call the school district.
