aw man! i gave away all my pogs to the kids on my bus when i was "bus monitor" (nerd alert!) in the 6th grade. If they shut up and didn't hurt each other, they'd get a pog.
pogs were so fucking serious when i was in junior high. kids would get tears in their eyes if they lost their stack. i remember i has some real slick hologram ones at one time. i think that Pogs have to be up there(if not top the list by a landslide) with the BeDazzler, FingerBoards(the mini skateboards), brittnary spears, Magic(the gathering), Pokemon, and Homies(those gangeter figures you would get in the quarter machines at rite-aid) as one of the top 5 BEST marketing schemes pulled on kids under 16 ever.

and you can make pog spoke cards. just laminate it the same way, the square. and that should hold it, if not cut like a cardboard frame and put the pog in the middle so at least teh spoke card would be rigid

i dont think anything will ever top pogs though. i mean, lets take a look at the basic structure of the movement:
