Meteor Shower tonight

After midnight we will be able to see the Perseid meteor shower.
"The best time to see the meteors is after about 1:30 a.m., when the moon has set and much of its glare has been eliminated. The Perseus constellation will be the northeast section of the sky, but the meteors get brighter and longer as they rocket away from the radiant, their point of origination."
Does anyone want to come out and watch it with me?

hey theshues and Imachynna. It is tomorrow....at 1:30 am, That's early this morning....more like tonight. The multiple rides have their info wrong.

The exact time of maximum should be about 7:00 a.m. EDT (1100 GMT) Aug. 12, according to Margaret Campbell-Brown and Peter Brown in the 2008 Observer's Handbook of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. If so, the timing is very good for meteor watchers observing before dawn in North America, especially in the western states. And that morning, the waxing gibbous moon sets around 1:30 a.m. local daylight saving time, leaving a dark sky for the next 3 hours.[1]
So, you guys got it wrong on posting the rides for tomorrow. Because, according the this article, the best time to see the meteor shower is after the moon sets in the western United States beginning at 1:30 AM.
So, my question stands. Does anyone want to come out my way and watch the meteor shower tonight / early this morning?

I feel like Galileo. No one, except for Chynna knows or is paying attention to the fact that if you go on meteor rides tomorrow night...you won't see much. lol

Covina is pretty far, I was hoping you'd be within riding distance on some hurting legs. Whoever can make it SHOULD go though.
I just remembered there's a hill by my house, if anyone wants to bring a blanket, they can join me on the hill. I'm in Silver Lake.
Maybe there's two meteor showers, one tonight and one tomorrow? Haha. The rides tomorrow really can't be meteorless, can they?

normally, I would be there, if something good is going on, most of the time. But now, I have a broken foot. I am getting a cast tomorrow, so I can go out, but I will probably take it easy. You're form Venice? I got jumped in Venice last summer, when I was on a date. I went out to get cigarettes from the place we were eating. I was okay, a bit roughed up. But, I think I kept one dude from ever having kids again. ever. So, that sucked. But, I love my friends in Venice. I'll come to see you at a ride or something.

im from the lbc but i live now in santa monica and i love it but ya come out and feel better.. i have been confronted but im a big guy 6.2 and 170 so they didnt bother me much plus i love the night, and i never bring a wallet and im usually broke so i dont have much trouble.. point em out ill kill em.

cool....I waited too long to get tickets to that. One of my old bands played with the boredoms on KXLU , on 4th of July, a long time ago. We also got to play with the mighty LOOMIS SLOVAC and seven forty-seven. That was a good day.

Just got back from "Top o Mulholland Drive", the sky was crystal clear , I only stayed 20 min or so but I saw 4 or 5 shooting stars, NICE. We are still doing the Taco Tuesdays Sky is Falling Ride, maybe we can see a few more. Whatever happens, we still will have a great ride.
