 One should be quite careful though, cause it is sad but true that shit is getting hot in northern mexico. Thanks to our beefed up border, bad global economy, and americas insatiable desire for illegal drugs. Shit is going pretty haywire.

I really wanna go ... but not sure I can make this one.

 Does anyone know if you need a passport for this? I thought you needed a passport after the new years, but I read they delayed it.

 I think we're doing the shuttle from San Diego:

Outback Adventures


It's 90 bucks but it sounds like they take care of you. Gatorade at the start and unlimited beer and soda at the finish. $3 showers. Pickup in SD at 7am and they take you back from the finish as late as 6:30 (finish should be between 2 and 4.)

Their site says you don't need a passport yet but you would then need a photo id plus birth certificate to get back into the US. Take your chances I guess.

 I did the ride last September and you definitely needed a passport to get back to the US. If there had been a delay about implementing the passport requirement, they sure didn't know about it when I went through the border. I felt pretty safe the entire ride though. I can't do it now but plan to do it next Fall. Met other Ridazz during the ride. They were the ones with spoke cards.
