Hey you bumpy wheeled ridazz! Come by the Bike Oven on Wednesday night and learn the basics of wheel truing.
Wednesday Feb 11, 7:00pm - 10:00pm
3706 N. Figueroa St., Los Angeles, CA 90065
A suggested donation of $10 is requested - but if you're broke you're broke.
Caste no bar.
This class will focus on wheel truing (straightening) and spoke adjustment. There are no prerequisites for this session and no prior mechanic experience is required. Anyone is welcome to attend. You will be given a brief overview of wheel design, construction, evaluation, tensioning, spoke replacement and tools and will then have an opportunity to practice on actual wheels.
Shop wheels will be used, but please bring your own as well for extra practice.
Class size is limited to 6 students. Secure your spot by emailing Josef at:
ubrayj02 at yahoo dot com. Or call: 310-902-5439
First confirmed, first served. Walk-ins will only be admitted if class size permits.
(Note: the shop will be closed for this class. No other shop use will be allowed while in session.)
The Oven’s tutorials are designed to help new and current volunteers get up to speed on various common repair tasks we see in the shop so that they can participate in the madness we call the BikeOven…priority will be given to those who want to become full fledged volunteers. But we can fill open spaces with anyone who is simply interested in gaining new skills.
A suggested donation of $10 is requested - but if you're broke you're broke.
Caste no bar.

This got posted like 2 hours before the class, so you know, that sucks.
If you're reading this and it is 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday night, come on down to the Bike Oven.
If you get here a little late, I'll personally walk you through the wheel truing process.
