BigBikeDan is in need of some help.

A little background. I installed the latest version of Itunes the other day, and all of the sudden, when I disconnected my Ipod, it showed that the memory usage was there, but it didn't show any of my contents on the ipod. When I plugged it in, it would show my Ipod contents on Itunes. So I restored my settings, put all my music and data back on the Ipod, and still had the same situation. I ended up updating the IPOD software and the problem was gone, all of my music was showing on the IPOD.

BIgBikeDan is having the same problem, he can't update the IPOD software. When he plugs in the IPOD , the only tab that is shown on ITUNES with his device is the "SUMMARY" tab. Under the Grey "VERSION" area, the box that say "Check for Update" is no longer there.

Restoring the IPOD, is something that I don't think will help (beside, he doesn't have the ipod backed up, and he doesn't want to lose the music he has on the ipod---why? that a whole other story)

He needs to be able to update the IPOD software. He tried hitting alt and ctlr and then plugging in the ipod to his MAC, put that didn't help.

He has a ibook and 160gb classic ipod.

if he still has the music on his ipod, there's a program called YAMIPOD, that takes the music from the ipod and puts it on the computer. there are other programs that do the same thing, but i'm only familiar with yamipod. you can probably find it and other similar programs on cnet. i still use itunes 6 with a 30 gig ipod video. i don't fuck with the ver. 7.0 and newer. i've only heard bad shit about the ver. 7 itunes.

i use ephpod and i have the latest itunes updates and i havent had any problems. but thats computers for you. if bbd ends up losing all his music i have the entire motorhead and girlschool discographies to donate if he has to fill it back up. i hope thats not the case!

I saw Motorhead at a club that was about the size of spaceland, but with a bit taller celling. My ears rang for 3 days!
