Amgen penultimate day ride

The pro race, Amgen Tour of California, will roll through Santa Barbara, Ojai, Santa Paula and Santa Clarita on Saturday, Feb. 23. There will be a wicked climb up Balcom Canyon outside of Fillmore. The road is lined with cycle crazy fans partying and shouting the racers to the top.
Who's up for a group ride to the canyon, say from Santa Paula or even Ojai? We could start in Thousand Oaks or Semi Valley too.
I want to witness the madness, dispite doing the Dark Century later on that day.

 Shortest ride ever: The Drive Way Ride!

I was thinking of you, Ruined. This could be a way of getting some ridazz to check out the good cycling in the Ojai Valley. It is a stunning ride from Ojai to Fillmore. A little climbing and lots of down hill.

 All these numerous, glitzy beach communities I've yet to set foot or pedal in.
Up to this point, I've only seen these places from the freeway, heard about them in the news, or saw them as names on a Rand McNally, Trucking Atlas.

 There is a quiet side road from Main Street Santa Paula to Balcom Canyon Rd. We avoid highway 126, a.k.a. Blood Alley.
I have cycled this road before.
Keep in mind this is the second to last day. It won't be like Long Beach last year with the big finish and festival. Balcom is way out on the course. We'll see a blur of color for about 5 minutes and it will be all over. We may be able to cycle 4 miles west and catch 5 more minutes as the peloton comes back over the Santa Susana Mountains on Highway 23.
There is also a sprint line in Santa Paula, so we have several choices for where to watch the race go by.

 Yo bent.
This is all inland my friend. No beach cities, which is why, perhaps, you have not become aquainted with them?
The area is beautiful and worth checking out even with no beaches.

 Living in SoCal for all these years, you would've thought I've known that already.
The desert area is like the village, and I guess I mixed the city names up with mental images of a map.
