2/28 ride to pt mugu

will anyone wake up at the butt crack of dawn to ride with me up to pt mugu and back?
i need to be back on the westside by 12:30 so we'd have to leave 8am or earlier
i need to get 60-70 miles in since 3/7 i'm supposed to do a century but i can't train with the team this saturday evening
we'd need to go 15-18mph the entire time (i need to improve my speed) and you have to be a stable rider so we can draft off eachother and not get killed by the whizzing traffic on PCH

the only people willing to get up that early on a saturday are regulars from what i've established.
we're riding at that time, and expect to finish around that time, maybe 10 or so miles less than you but 6000 feet of climbing.

yeah i might just have to do it alone
wow i'd love to join you but i can't do 6000 feet of climbing. i have only been doing maybe 2000 in a ride. soon though...very soon =)

you should catch pporas down to long beach, the round trip should be about 75 miles, and the bike path is a much safer place to pick up speed than on pch.

point Mugu? to and from? you're looking at at least 100 + . if you're trying to put some mileage under ur wheels i'd take the ijunes option to long beach the long stretches will pull onyour will power big time and the pay off in the middle aint bad. when we did the caturday in the rain it was nice just to be out of traffic. by the end you put in 70+. at the end of that day I think I had put in about 80 total from NoHo. either way , have fun.

but anyway, if i didn't have the time constraint, i'd join the other ride
i'll figure something out

ooh they do the AIDS ride. I've wanted to ride down from Santa Cruz ever since drove down the PCH from there. need more training
