''''HEARD TODAY THAT HARRY"--->MURDOWSKI"<---????? IS IN THE HOSPITAL, SOMEWHERE AROUND BURBANK, IF YOU READ THIS HARRY, I HOPE YOU GET WELL SOON, I JUST GOT OVER MY ACCIDENT, AND I AM HOPING THAT YOU ALSO HAVE A SPEEDY RECOVERY.
Damn, sorry to hear, Harry. On the plus side, here are some of the recommended treatments for sciatica per Wikipedia -
Most cases of sciatica can be treated by one or more of the following:
* Acupuncture[5]
* Anti-inflammatory medications (for example NSAIDs or oral steroids)
* Chiropractic[6]
* Medical cannabis to control pain.[citation needed]
So, you just need some needles, Motrin, a spinal adjustment and some of Cali's finest to get you right again! Someone get the man a light!!
Feeling Randy & I stopped by tonight after dinner at the Smokehouse with the Tie Dye Bunch. Harry was happy to see us but was pretty doped up (says he). I wonder if he'll even remember we were there in the morning. He said that he thought it may have started when he had E-Rock on his back at the Funderstorm show (spot-on RBI). He's still in pain, and thought he'd be having an MRI in the morning. Not sure what the future holds yet for recovery or for leaving the hospital.

WE NEED TO HEAR SOME GOOD NEWS HARRY, SURPRISE US.
I appreciate the company......Sorry to expose you to the knackers!!! It was completely unintentional!!! There's no dignity these days!!,
@Eddie
Back is fine according to the nightcrawling neuro surgeon, however, my knee is presenting somewhat of a mystery..It hurts like an MF but I've found having conversations with it while under the influence of narcotics has a positive effect!!
@RBI,
Do you have to be right!!!???
So it's 3.24am and I'm bored....Even the nurses won't come near me for fear of being caught in the Harry Fly Trap!!!!
Im gonna go see the lime after the lunch hours providing i don't get call for work. who wants to hitch a ride from k-town or the BD to go see HARRY? Call me: two13-four40-zero974
Anyone want to viist Harry tomorrow around 3pm? BigBikeDan and I and maybe EddieGopez are going around 3pm. There is a large bicycle rim that I am going to cover with cardboard as a get well card, if you all can sign it , that would be great!
So annie and I met up at scoops we delighted on two scoops each ourselves and brought harry a tub with four assorted flavors. we got some ice from pure lock and wet proofed the tub in a box with to plastic bag liners. we were going to make the voyage to st. josephs through griffith when we ran into nicole who heard what we were doing and she was in her car and offered to drive us there. well at least the ice cream made it frozen and chilly cold. we had a great time with harry and his spirits are up. although there is still a lot of uncertainty as far as a final diagnosis and or a prognosis of his bed rest time etc. Annie, Nicole and I were later joined by stevo who came in round 7pm and then John, Zuko and another beautiful lady who also happens to be an alc'er and Im so sorry i forgot your name. Anyway, it was awesome to see how we come together as a community and all see each other at a hospital visiting a friend. I love you harry! And I love you guise! all of you guize. I love you guyse. really guyze.
annie and i rode back the whole way back to ktown. annie hated the ride home because of all the bugs that lurk in burbank backdrop of the griffith mountains, i guess shes right, it's a bit damp in the evenings around there and we get lost of bugs in our face around there and we sometimes get em in our eyes and mouths and nostrils, so just about every orifice on your face. i keep them out of my eyes at least with shades or eve/night goggles. anyway she was miserable through the bike path too for the same reason. I was hauling ass. i think im ready for fast rides again. annnie was not riding like she usually does. usually we are toe to toe on the flats and up climbs. then again she's been on her bike in this hot day all day too. Thanks for coming out annie. It was fun. next time i'll take us through a dryer and less bug infested route.
the weather alongside the 5fwy nbound was amazing on the bikepath. it's still alongside the mountain range on griffith and the weather was like a rainy tropical humid dusky evening in GUADALAJARA - JALISCO MEXICO or any COASTAL or COUNTRY/WILDERNESS SIERRA TOWN OF JALISCO. Beautiful warm humid and pleasant breezy climate, anything but still and humid and some pleasant warm rain. so nostalgic, it takes me back to GUADALAJARA. home of the world famous and to date championship wins leader in the MEXICAN soccer league... CLUB DEPORTIVO CHIVAS RALLADAS DE GUADALAJARA.
Your in Jane and my thoughts. Sorry I haven't been able to visit. I have no car insurance at this time. Hopefully we can get out to see you soon. Scream in pain for attention, it worked for me at the County Hospital. I can only Imagen what it would do at a private hospital.
Marino, Mr. Rollers, Crespin and I saw Harry last night (had to tell the guard we were his American cousins). Harry is ok but we're worried that the doctors don't really have a grasp on what the problem is or how to help him. Crespin spent ten minutes with him and gave him more info than any of the doctors (Crespin helps lots of people with injuries). But Harry is in good spirits and has access to a morphine drip that he could release every six minutes! But everyone, give him a call, pay a visit, leave a dirty message on his vm!
everyone has my permission to cop a feel on Harry. He won't remember a thing. If you make out with him, make sure to use lots of tongue, wonderdave told me harry likes it that way.
next time I visit, I just want to steal his morphine
Nice talkin' on the phone last night sorry the 20 of us outside in the parking lot didn't come up. I thought about taking a picture of all of us spelling H A R R Y out in full bodies but then quickly forgot. Get well!!!
I hung out with Harry for a few hours yesterday....he's still hurting pretty bad. I expect they will keep him a few more days just to manage his pain. He still hadn't found out if he was needing surgery or not.
He's also getting bored. If anyone has magazines they are done with, I'm sure he'd love some new reading material. If you are unable to take them to the hospital, bring them to the grateful dead ride and I'll take them to him on saturday.
geeeez I finally clicked on this thread. I thought it was literally about Harry Potter books, of which I have no interest.... but LIMEYFLY is very interesting to me! Get WELL SOON HARRY.
UPDATE:
First of all I'd like to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone for their thoughts, well wishing and to those who've managed to take time out of their busy schedules to make it out to the hospital!! It sincerely means a lot ot me!!!
Yesteray I took myself off the medication and after getting some massage therapy I fugured I'd be able to convalesce at home. I took 1 lap around the ward with a walker last night and the pain was excruiciating. My right leg is weak and I have severe cramping. The doctors say I have Lumbar Spinal Stenosis with although it is not cronic is causing the problems with the leg, however, the surgeon thinks surgery is a bit premature considerinng my health - good and fairly fit. If I check out I'll post here.
Once again thankyou, Harry xx
To get out of the hospital i need to find a way to manage the pain and start exercising but I think I may be stuck in the hospital for a few more days.
So if you are bored and can't finnd anything to do feel free to drop by I'm in room 567 (south tower)at St. Joseph's on Buena Vista Burbank.
Harry, warm thoughts and well wishes I send you.
K, the american cousin trick I dont think works anymore, Harry are there visiting hours for us (friends) at the hospital? How do we well wishers get in?
Harry has been in the hospital for almost two weeks now. (Entered two Friday's ago, July 4th--a bit ironic, huh?)
A new round of doctors has determined a bulging disc in his back is pinching a nerve and they concede their is no evading surgery.
He goes into surgery tomorrow @2pm.
I will be bringing him a bottle of Jack Daniels (at his request) tomorrow around 4pm. If you would like to join me on the train to Burbank, let mw know here. (I'll probably take the train from downtown, civic center, but am flexible and could go from Hwood, too.)
If you can't visit today, or tomorrow, or the next day, keep the words of encouragement (stories, entertainment, etc) coming. We don't want him going crazy lonely in there!
I was dropping a 40' footer off in the ports down in San PCedro today.
I went South on Alameda, then it turned into this street called
"Harry Bridges".
Upon seeing that name, our very own M1-6 agent came to mind.
I immediately envisioned everyone on the street being greeted by an easy-going, chap pullin' a sound trailer.
Sounds like you have the same thing I had. A bulging disk pressing up against the sciatic nerve. Painful as shit and can bring a the person down on his knees begging for mercy. It matters how much the bulge is pressing against the nerve, but sounds like you'll need surgery. It's a great relief afterwards. Just make sure you handle therapy correctly.
