Storm the Bastille is on!
On Monday, July 14, we ride from REDquarters (Santa Monica & Vermont Red Line Station) @ 11 to the South Lawn of City Hall for a noon rally.
We've got a Bastillion ideas on ways to make this a GREAT City but we're gonna start with the
Cyclists' Bill of Rights and we're gonna call on our City Leadership to join us in making this a GREAT City with GREAT Streets! (6500 miles of roadway, all of it ridable!)
See you on the Streets!

Says Enci:
Great Day!
Big Bike Dan led the charge with the music trailer; Stephen, Enci, Alex running, Matt, Patricia, Ingrid, Sexy Jr., Sexy Sr., Josef and offspring, some new guy, Ed, Mark, DJ Chickenleather, Moy, David, Sean, Rachel and a couple other cyclists attended.
We spoke to a crowd of around 200 and Joseph urged them to redefine the definition of transportation so that it includes all modes of travel including cyclists, not just motor vehicles. Alex spoke of the Freeway ride and about how sad it is that its safer to ride a bicycle on the freeway then it is on the street. Stephen introduced the Cyclists' Bill of Rights while Sexy Jr. and Sr. unfurled the 50' banner, and I spoke of the importance of putting people first and reminding them that cyclists are people just like motorists and pedestrians and we got to get along.
City Councilman Dennis Zine, City Controller Laura Chick, and several Neighborhood Council board members amongst others signed the Cyclists Bill of Rights. Woohoo!
