i hate both. which do you hate more.
rain in any form but wind i guess 15 mph+
i would rather ride in the rain than ride in the wind.

they can both suck my left toe.
i rode to the LB bike festival and felt like the westerlies were gonna push me into the rocks lining the flood control.
as for rain- in a another city it might not be as bad, but in LA, i feel like the smog is condensing on you even if you're just walking in the rain. it's just plain gross.

i personally cant stand riding against the wind
BUT
riding with the wind is pretty sick. maybe even too sick. sometimes you go so fast that it's scary.
and no to raising wind awareness.
i'm starting a new movement.

I'd like to try riding in the rain with actual rain specific clothing, like a poncho or something. So what if I look like a retarded maniac.

Getting wet, or snowed on never hurt me in any way.
However, riding in headwinds with gusts of up to 30-40mph will surely make me want to get home and not go outside until it stops.
Yeah, it's good resistance training until your ass slips in wind-blown dirt and you swallow enough sand to repair a levee!!!
My ass is getting too old for that shit!!!

i can deal with the rain... but going against headwinds... ugh swallowing all that wind makes me lightheaded as hell

i think what makes the wind tougher to deal with is having a computer. you know you're pedaling as hard as you can, you're on a flat ground and for some reason you cant go over 14 mph

riding in the wind rules because you build more muscle mass in your legs and ride faster. but it sucks if you have allergies.

I love both!!!!! I am from Indiana, and there is nothing better than riding 3 hours one way then 45 minutes the other and racing home in front of a towering thundercloud. The go faster than you can ride. I don't mind getting caught in the rain, or racing in the rain. However there is alot of motivation needed to leave for a ride and its allready pouring and like 50 degrees out. I use to ride in Indiana as long as the road had been plowed in the winter.
JUNU any word on that BB? I'm not talking about a bottom bracket.

if you ride in the rain, you have to spend an hour cleaning your bike when you get home. if you ride in the wind, you spend an hour drinking water and eating snacks when you get home.
are you going up or down the hill with the 20mph headwind? because ive done both, and it wasnt fun. but my legs benefited from it.

call me lazy, but I hate riding against the wind. I'd rather ride in the rain with the exception of idiot drivers in heavy traffic.

I still have to air-hose my bike down after the 30-40mph gusts up here, and that's even if I'm lucky enough to get to an air-hose in time.
All that sand gets into the springs and whatnot, turning your components into shit.
So, I'll go with the lesser of two evils where I'm not spending the next 3 hours coughing up sand.

I rather ride in the wind, It'll make you a stronger rider. On the other hand rain is dangerous and the way L.A drivers drive in the rain itll be ur best idea not to ride in the rain.

Well, at least in an urban environment, buildings and such act as rather effective wind-breaks.
In my area, we've got long stretches where the bullshit picks up speed and blows for days.
