Victory! Reseda Bike Lane

LACBC would like to declare a small victory for cyclists regarding the Reseda Bike Lane. We have just been notified that LADOT will stripe the 1 mile section on Reseda between San Fernando Mission Rd. and Devonshire Blvd. in the next few weeks. This will coincide with the repaving of that section.

We have also been notified that LADOT is finalizing the design for the bike lane between Nordoff and Devonshire.

Thank you to everyone who sent in letters, gathered community support and attended the meetings. It is due to your action we were able to secure this 1 mile bike lane on Reseda.

We would also like to thank Mayor Villaraigosa for following this issue very closely and for playing a large part in ensuring that LADOT stripe this bike lane.

While this is great news, there is still the rest of the Reseda Bike Lane that needs to be striped. The gap needs to be closed! Please continue to send in letters to Councilmember Smith and Councilmember Zine to support striping the complete bike lane on Reseda by end of 2009.

 good stuff.... hope it's true........... I will reserve celebration until I see PAINT ON THE STREETS.

We should all thank ourselves for this too. I saw many ridazz come out to the Neighborhood council meetings and voice their opinions and we made calls to the people who direct te LADOT - The Politicians.

we shouldnt stop here, whenever a road is being re-paved it should be compared with the bicycle master plan to see if there is a plan for a bike lane or sharrow on that street....
