Project Pothole

With everything going the way it is, word on the street is there are only a few more months of funding for LA Street Services before the coffers are dry. Not to be sensationalist, but if this is true, many of us have been sleeping on one of the most important aspects of bicycle planning and infrastructure.
I believe it is safe to say the majority of bike accidents are caused by the cyclist swerving to dodge a road imperfection that the driver has not left enough space to accommodate for.
One of the specific functions Street Services is to facilitate the safety for cyclists by filling dangerous potholes. All citizens are given access to this service by calling 311. What they don't tell you is how long you actually have to wait on hold, how many hoops you have to jump through, and how many other phone numbers they give you to call for your problem. This is an obvious deterrent to most which actually makes the job easier for the city.
I am proposing for the Valley Bikery to be a sort of depository for lists of potholes in the valley and subsequently do the phone and legwork to make some substantial progress regarding this issue before it's too late.
Let's do this LA.

he clarified that he had intended to fill a million "pothole units." one very large pothole may technically be considered ten pothole units, so the money dried up pretty quickly.
