AAHHH! the town where I grew up. Albuquerque New Mexico. The land of ditches. When I was growing up, we skated most of these ditches bones brigade style. Over the last ten years or so, long boarders have come to love these ditches. I am posting some videos from ditch slap 2010. There are so many similarities in this long boarding community to MR. The videos are really mellow...not too many shockers or Police run-ins (although they are there.) Just sit back take a few minutes and enjoy the Land of Enchantment.
One of the guys that was at the Ditch Slap 2010 in NM made this video in and around Claremont CA....I think this is close to his digs. This downhill skating in this video is pretty awesome. These are some of the steepest roads that we climb and bomb down in CA on bikes.
Nice vids there, I seriously miss this city.
Not as sprawled out as places in CA, but plenty of things to run into and explore that will surely take more than a day.
Hopefully they'll route me through there so I could check it out, so far it's been a healthy dose Fontana to Cheyenne and back.
Albuquerque is a nice place to live and skate.
There is something about that area, when I've gone back to visit. Something is going on there that I can't describe. I knew it as a child...but I didn't have any perspective at the time. I can't describe it. It is a great place. Nice to hear from you, man. Bentstrider!!!
The other video that I linked, after the ones from New Mexico, is really well shot. It makes bombing Claremont look scary and fast, even compared to bombing on track bikes.
Along with Denver and Richfield, UT, Albuquerque is definitely on my list of places to go to school in once this OTR thing has myself and the DOT Safety Monkeys satisfied.
