So does this mean, we won't have to read/hear reminisces of New York?

No

NY is still the greatest city in this country.

no Hipster, I will always love on NY, whether I am here or there. Brooklyn has my heart. But. my heart is BIG ENOUGH for both cities. (and also a couple other places at least)

(and at least a little has to do with Bike Porn - I did say gush didn'tt I??)

I'm just curious, are there alot of NYC-expatriates living in LA now?
Seems like almost every thread I observe, there seems to be at least a post, or two, or three pertaining to an NYC war-story.
Don't blame me though, I've lived in Victimville since I was four.
Only in the past fourteen months have I experienced life outside the desert.

There are a lot of New York transplants in LA, just as there are with any of the Big Three -- NY, LA, SF. We all switch around every few years, it seems.

There's a lot of Portland transplants, too. I've lived in all FOUR cities, which makes me queen of the universe. Actually, it means I need to settle the hell down, but whatever.

I <3 LA.

@katiepoche
Due to the lines of work I see myself employed in the near future, I'll be the type that makes a living in the country, then vacations in the city.
The exact opposite of what everyone else does.
As far as where I really want to live, I haven't really decided upon that one yet.
Perhaps I'll be a C.O. at Salinas Valley State Prison(BFE), then retire in Portland or Seattle.

DO IT. It's lovely, and has that whole urban density thing going on. But it's small (in a good way). Also, lots of dive bars. And I love me some dive bars. The countryside out there -- well, if you've lived in the desert your whole life, you'll dig it. High Desert. Beautiful.

Welcome Home RRH.

Of course you don't really have to tell us you love L.A.
We can see that by your actions.
Still its nice to hear once in a while.
LA loves you too!

Knittens --

Opps, sorry about the Big Three comment. But people in Chicago know what's up -- they know it rocks. So they don't leave. Us coastal types are skittish. Antsy. Fickle. Horrible people, really.

I was born in Illinois, but everytime I tell people that, I'm automatically branded, a "Bull" or a "Bear".
Danville, IL was a small-town when I was born there and still is.
Not to get off-topic, but I feel like I've been moved from small-town, to small-town all my life.
Now as far as living within proximity of LA, it makes me feel like a big shot when I do travel to other small towns.
