 Still safer to be indoors during an earthquake, running outside is usually the more dangerous option. Unless you can run 1.5x the height of the building away from the building - that's how far debris would eject during a serious earthquake.

 And to think that after an epic quake, the owner would most likely have quadmounts with Gatling Guns installed to control the ravenous hordes of car-less, and/or fuel-deprived patrons.

Meanwhile, the regulars would be protected by BlackWater escorts.
