Fun ride. Some new people. About a 12 mi. ride round trip from Atomic Cycles (20 for me from home).
Since we had gone east and west in the past, this time the consensus was to go north. Straight up Louise from Saticoy more or less, thru the CSUN campus (where we had the dubious pleasure of the gendarmes keeping a close eye on our ragtag group) up to Chatsworth Bl. for our first rest stop at the "Oh somethingorother" bar, long enough to catch our breath and down a beer. Only one spectacular endo and a chain derailment beforehand on the way, no biggie.
Continued on north (slight uphill going north in the valley...) to SFVMission Bl. (I think) for our second beer, then a quick thrilling midnite and DARK ride thru the Knollwood Country Club grounds (thankfully, no groundskeeper interventions) then back to the shop along Balboa, downhill all the way. Home by 12:30 or was it 1:30? Yeah. SFVCritMass next Tuesday! woodley & victory 7pm

I hate you. That sounds like the perfect ride. You rode into my neighborhood. Drank in my bars, Rode through my golf course.
Nobody ever have rides up here. I went to the Westside for Ride-arc, which is a great ride, if not my favorite, and had to deal with all the up-tight, no patience drivers of Santa Monica. I also caught the end of the SM critical mass. I deserve to have missed it, since I left my beloved Valley to ride on the westside.
Alhough, Ride-Arc was good.
I'm so jealous, fer-sure.. To top it all off I was called a ride whore.

Yeah, there's a few interesting rides starting to pop up here and there. And the dates and times are starting to conflict. But I don't sit easy when I have to drive my truck to get to one. But this is LA, whatcha gonna do? Public transit? It's not economical for them to run past midnight for the few ridazz they're going to get.
I don't think I've missed a PedalNPubCrawl since it started last fall, or a CruzWithUs since it started last spring, well maybe one. Both essentially a "midnightridazz" style ride. Ride whatcha brung, ride around the strreets, have a good time, go home.
I even made it out to SpokeNArt last momth (in NELA), a great ride, a great afterparty, but I slumped down in my truck seat when I drove off afterwards. When someone has the cojones or whatever to put up a local ride, I'm there.
