Mounting video cameras on a bicycle

I saw this on NY Streetsblog:



Brilliant idea. I was starting to get comfortable with the cycling infrastructure in San Francisco when twice Google Maps on my iPhone directed me to take a street that was basically a freeway feeder route without a bike lane. And it felt like riding in LA all over again. So many fucks tailing me and passing really fucking close.

Any ideas on where to buy cheap cameras and a lightweight means to power them? I think having a bike-mounted video camera would be useful for a lot more than just having evidence against reckless endangerment.

 buy an old canon p+s and put the hacked freeware on..

or they have flip video cams, but i'm not sure they have a tripod hole.

also, rei sells a camera mount for like $20 or you could just use a bogen super clamp...

 There was also a post on here about using a broken bicycle bell as a mount for a camera. I tried it with one that I have, and it worked like a charm.
