quick question which i should know the answer to...

i'm about 5'5 and i don't remember what the best size frame would be for me. i'm looking to buy a used roadbike because i am converting mine to fixed.

50 cm max- I'm 5'6" and don't clear the top tube of my 52cm frame.

50 cm max is a pretty good rule...

I'm 5' 5" and I like 49 cm...
I'm pretty average...I have 48, 49, and 50 frames...
and the 49 fits the best for my average legs...the 48 seems a little cramped in the top tube, and the 50 feels a little long (even though the stem I have is not very long)

If you have longer legs, you might want the 50, if you have shorter legs, you might look at a 48 ...

of course you have to take into account your arm length, and how aggressive you'll be riding also!!

And everything else will have to be adjusted to fit... stem/saddle/seat post...

of course the above is in reference to "standard" geometry

just remember, top tube length is much more important than seat tube length/standover clearance.

someone gave me a formula for figuring out frame size before, but don't remember it. Does anyone know the formula?
