Mountaineerzz: Kanan Doom!

Mountaineerzz starring In...
The Kanan of Doom!

Date: Saturday 3.29.08

Meeting Place for Shuttle:
Sunset & Fairfax 2:30pm meet-up, departing by 3:00pm
(sorry, had to nix the Valley meeting spot)

Destination:
S Kanan Dume Road in Malibu - meet at the parking lot / trailhead at the number three tunnel
(the one nearest the beach).
4:00 meet-up, knobbies roll on the trail by 4:30pm
(and we'll ride until sunset).

We'll be riding some sensational singletrack tucked between Solstice, Latigo,
Corral and probably a few other colorfully coined canyons.

Bonus feature: ride to the origin point of the Malibu fire and see where it all started.

Thanks to the kind generosity of Adamthelizard and your kind offer to donate a buck or five for gas, we have
a van to transport us from the Westside to the Malibu hills.

Or feel free to meet us at the trail head, just north of the tunnel that's closest to the beach.

This is one of my favorite rides and one of the most spectacular trails around.

Ridazz come on out and lay down some fat tire trackzz.

Mountaineerzz is a monthly, briskly-paced, all-terrain [ road & dirt ] ride.

Mountaineerzz love singletrack & fireroads yet embrace the pavement that gets them
there.

Our initial focus will be on (sub)urban rides via paved streets to off-road trails.

Future events will include night rides and shuttle rides to outlying areas that are a little
too far to bike to. (like this one, bub!)

All Ridazz are welcome, but this ain't a ride for anyone new to off-road riding.

Think Wolfpack/Cubpack/Bicykillers-with-knobby-tires, so those who don't have the skillzz may be left
behind.

If you aren't riding a mountain-bike, crossbike, 29er, Kabuki Sky, single speed or any other quick,
singletrack-worthy bike you will likely have a hard time keeping up.

As we'll be riding technical trails in some remote locations, helmets are strongly recommended.
