A new decade, a new schedule...

Mountaineerzz will now take place on the first Saturday of the month.

Mountaineerzz is rolling on Saturday morning, 1.2.09.

Meet at 10:15am, Roll at 10:30am sharp

Location: The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf - Across from the NoHo Red Line Station (Lankershim and Chandler). Take the Red Line to the start or park in the Red Line parking lot.

The route: Longlivelonghairs requested this route months ago, so he's making the calls on this ride. Expect some mondo climbing--not too technical, but lots of endurance climbs--and some sweet downhill singletrack. Followed by even more climbing. The ride will return to the start point about five or six hours later.

Water and food are scarce so bring plenty of both.

There will be asphalt! Like an hour of road riding to the trails. Mountaineerzz is an urban mountain biking ride. Translation - we ride the streets to the trailhead. If riding knobby tires on pavement offends your sensibilities, than this is not the ride for you.

Bring food, water, tools, patch kit and a spare tube.

Helmets are strongly recommended. Hell, they should be mandatory.
