How did you first hear about Midnight Ridazz and what was your first group bike ride?
I was riding my bike around town(for fun). I came across an old friend, who was also riding around for fun and she told me to be at Wilshire and Western at a certain time that Friday. So I went and it was critical mass. That night I saw Big Bike Dan’s Sins & Sprockets vest and decided I needed to make the mom ridaz.
Currently what rides do you attend regularly and what ride(s) would you like to see make a comeback?
Unfortunately I haven't been attending too many lately, I always loved 2nd Fridays, Crank Mobs, LACM/people's ride. I miss coming home from Crank Mobs after riding for 15 hours at nine in the morning with a handful of mom ridaz. oh yeah and ALL MOM RIDAZ RIDES!!!! :)
What advice would you pass on to new ridazz?
Just be nice! together we stand divided we fall! Start pedaling and never fucking stop.
If you were leading a group ride, what would you do differently?
nothing...every ride has its own personality you just gotta find the ones that fits you.
Do you prefer small rides (30 or less people) or larger rides and why?
they are both great for their own reasons. while huge rides are great for awareness. the smaller rides are awesome cause you get to be with your close friends and maybe a few new heads that are easier to befriend.
Tell us about the best and worst experience you’ve encountered on a group ride. The best experience I've had was when my Peugot got stolen. The next ride I brought a bike that was a piece of junk and we rode around to ridazz houses and they donated parts so that by the end of the ride I had a fully functional Bianchi.
What did you do for fun before you started “riding”?
I was already riding for fun with a handful of friends.
What’s the best and worst thing group bike rides have done for cycling as a whole in Los Angeles?
The best thing is that while I'm riding down the street I never hear "Get out of the road" or “you're supposed to be on the sidewalk"
People are more aware of ridaz rights and laws.
The worst thing is bike thievery is way more out of control.
If you can name 1 person who embodies the spirit of “Midnight Ridazz”, Who would it be and Why?
Matt Stilline, Eeddieboy, Big Bike Dan, Chicken Leather, and Fuzzbeast…these guys will all give the last of what they have to any rida just based on love.
What do you think the public’s perception is of group bike rides?
They wish they were this cool :)
