START TIME: Gather at Noon; Ride at 12:30 p.m.










We've been in search of the Black Dahlia. We've taken back the Griffith Observatory. We monkeyed up and down mountains and molehills in true "No-Surrender" fashion. We've found out Watts is happening. We kicked the AIN'T outta TAINT in a Vernon adventure. Now it's time to kick back and relax. Find some zen and find it now. And we're doing that Sunday July 22 with the "Serenity Now" ride, the next and fifth of the infamous and glory-hoarding IAAL•MAF's all-are-welcome spinvitationals. Geared to be fun and friendly for riders of all ages, levels and interests and intrigues, this 18-mile roundtripper boomeranging from Griffith Park's Travel Town Rail Museum to the L.A. River Center & Gardens in El Sereno Cypress Park and back alongside the L.A. River and through residential surface streets of Elysian Valley is all about an easy pace that not only allows you to enjoy the ride but also to explorationally enlighten you to the variety of art, wildlife and history we'll be checking out along the way.



Starts/Ends: Travel Town, 5200 Zoo Drive, LA 90027 (map)







Imporant Secondary Start/End point: For those of you looking to participate but at a far shorter distance, your wish is the IAAL•MAF's command. After departing from Travel Town at 12:30 p.m. we'll be exiting the L.A. River Bikeway at Fletcher Avenue to continue through Elysian Valley to the L.A. River Center. Our estimated travel time to Fletcher (map) will be 20-30 minutes. So you're welcome to join in at that 1 p.m. point for the rest of the way to the L.A. River Center (roundtrip distance from Fletcher there and back is approximately 8 miles).
