THE SLOW SANE RIDE
Location: sidewalk in front of Earlz Grill, SE corner of Crenshaw blvd. and Exposition Blvd, mid LA.
Meet up time: 9:45 p.m.
Ride out: 10:00 pm exactly
Destination: Santa Monica Pier
Turn left onto Exposition Blvd (has bike lane)
Turn right onto La Brea Ave
Turn left onto Jefferson Blvd (has bike lane)
Keep right at the fork
Turn right onto National Blvd
Turn left onto Venice Blvd (has bike lane)
Turn right onto Abbot Kinney Blvd (City of LA recommended route for biking, has sharrows)
Continue onto Brooks Ave
Slight right at Arcadia Terrace
Destination will be on the right, Santa Monica Pier
Rest time at Pier: exactly 15 minutes.
Return trip: same but there will be 1 stop for exactly 20 minutes at a donut store TBA
Purpose of trip: Attempt to safely get exercise/miles in, meet some new people. Eliminate surprises with
routes, times, pace, or destinations.
Special notes: No drugs, pot, alcohol, craziness, costumes, painting, stealing, harassing, trespassing
or violating of any other laws.
Gear/attire: helmets and reflective and/or bright clothing, and lights on bike, advised. The use of
headphones is very strongly discouraged.
Normal safety group ride procedures followed.
Pace: 10-12 average mph (which is SLOW.) If you go slower or faster you will be dropped. Goal of
the ride is to get some exercise at this specific slow pace. If you don't want to ride at this pace, or stay with
the group, this ride is not for you.
Plan is to attempt to ride safely and maintain pace/try to keep the group together. We will stop
for all lights and stop signs.
All participants assume and ride at their own risk. Bicycling entails a risk of serious injury or death.
