my friend's fixie was locked up outside in santa monica (around 20th & washington) for about an hour last night, midnightish. brought it in for the night and didn't notice anything amiss, went to a bike shop in the morn for new toe straps...and the LBS guy said his spokes had been cut!

usually spokes break near the hub, but his were broken right by the wheel, with a perfect diagonal cut about a quarter inch from the end of the spoke.

has anyone had this happen to them? it's really disturbing to me that people run around town with wire cutters endangering the lives of bikers and their sexy bikes. check it before you wreck!

Sounds about as shitty as what happened to me in high school.
Kind of stupid, but some Jackass would always take the skewers from my wheels.
This resulted in dual lock-up procedures.

I say we set a trap, then take the lil'bitch out to the pier for a good 'ole fashioned, witch-dunking!!
