i just didn't wanna be stuck in that industry and never leave.. i've seen guys there who've been there for 20 years and that's the only kinda work they will ever get..

I wouldn't want to work on it though. I imagine that makes it hard to use it to get it up when you want to because you don't want anything to do with work when you are at home.

yup the medical field is booming with career oppurtunitys in all positions... in the next couple of years baby boomers are soon to retire and get their social and 401k benefits. With that situation at hand their is going to be a large void to fill all those empty positions. I myself am pursuing RN already taking courses at my college soon to take the LVN course. If i invest 4 to 5 years i should be certefied and liscensed in the state of cali with a BS in Nursing grossing about 90 to 100 thousand a year. Go to school while you still can its never to late.
i fucked em over bad this black friday i got request like a mother fucker to take days off so i denied all the asswholes and made em work to cover the missing peoples shifts and the real asswholes fuckers id love to get rid of made em work thurday for a while!

Definitely right about the medical field being the hottest thing that will never have a slow-down, just so long as you're not involved in the paper-pushing aspect of it.
EMT-B's, EMT-Paramedics, RN's, X-Ray techs, and a whole host of other top positions that aren't going to cost you $200,000+ and require you to be the golden egg among eggheads.
As for me, I decided that if that "other" thing I'm trying to get back into doesn't pan out in the next year, then I'm moving to Phoenix to get into an EMT-B to Paramedic program.
Arizona doesn't require you to get an additional DMV-endorsement completed in addition to the EMT and Paramedic curricula you already need.
goose, you should try and get into master control at any studio...Fox, espn, even cable providers need master control ops...Like Charter, or Time Warner...look it up man its pretty chill.

what does the Master Control person do again? Are they in charge of running the shows and commercials and stuff on time or something? might be interested in that if they pay well.. lol
check out the link, they do live shows (switching camera feeds) and also the commercial stuff. I do the commercial stuff, id like to work with live TV (preferably connan o'brian) but its a chill job...all i do is encode commericals and send them out to different cities.
Look it up man, I had no past experience...it was just an open position at my company. I applied and got it. You on the other hand DO have somewhat of an experience with editing and im sure the equipment you use it the same as ours. Vector scope, Dolby loudness meters Mackie boards...ya know.

I've done freelance web development for the last 2 almost 3 years now. The downsides: too much sitting, it's a roller coaster, sometimes too much work, other times not enough. The upsides: flexible working schedule, get to work lots of different cool people, and get to do almost 100% free software development :)
I could never land a job in sales, but whenever I was at Home Depot or Lowes, I had a better time explaining to other customers what took the clerks there 30-40 minutes to find out.
Their loss, and now they're trying to cling to the liferaft and ride out the current slowdown, assjocks.
i took a job at home depot for a few months many years ago.... i hated it so much... I wanted to work in the paint department, they said cool, you're hired. So they put me in building materials. I basically moved bags of cement, played with wood all day (no complaints), and the absolute best part:
Customers!!! I was like in my early 20's and stupid mother fuckers, would ask me, "so Im building a patio and gazebo, do you how I should structure the unit?" or "Im re-paneling my roof, what do you suggest?" or "I'm looking for this THING, you know, it holds that part that you hold the other part to, when you're trying to stabilize the, what do you call it again?"
I swear, after two weeks of realizing my calls to supervisors didnt get the customer any help, but rather made them get angry at me for not knowing....
I just made shit up.
Yo, what you need to do is buy some of these metal things I'm supposed to restock, but you're better off buying; this stuff is great for the roof; and lets take the bags from the fucked up pallet, I dont want to clean this up later.
Anyhow, I quit after 2 months or so.
