Hey, probably doesnt matter to this plan, but just thought I'd mention for some reason the 'LA Bike Tour' is postponed and not part of this years Marathon.

For safety sake might want to consider that all intersections may not be completely closed at that hour. Ridazz beware heads up!
This sounds like FUN I'll try and make it.

The wheelchair racers start at 6:55 a.m. If you guys ride, make sure you leave early enough so that the wheelchair competitors Do Not catch you guys. There is no problem in riding the course. The problem would be if you guys are riding and the Wheelchair racers catch you and you have to get off the course because the police escorts force you off the course. Also imagine if you were a wheelchair racer. You don't want anything in your way, especially when there is Big money for the winner. Think about that for a minute. Have fun and ride safe.

That gives us a good 3 hours to put space between us and the wheelchairs. If you can't do 26 miles in 3 hours, you're in trouble...

This sounds like a blast. I'm down, but the only ride I've heard of is the faster-paced wolfpack ride, and it doesn't seem like they're actually riding the route of the marathon.
Does anyone have more information on this?

Chochacho, your source must not be reliable. If you want more information on the Wolfpack Race on the Marathon Course then go to Lafixed.com you have to create a username and a password. Then they will give you access in about a day. There is a dedicaded thread on the Wolfpack Race on the Marathon Course. For the record the Wolfpack Race will run on the LA Marathon Course. You can even see a time lapse video of the course from start to finish. So go to lafixed.com and you will have a vast amount of information on this event and future events. Have fun and ride safe everybody.

A few people are making a leisurely half-marathon, leaving from Mike's Bike Shop at 6:15 a.m. sharp, riding north about ten minutes to hook into the route.
Some of us will return via the Ballona Creek Bike Path, or maybe Venice Blvd (and we might even head back up the reverse route of the marathon if it's still too early to see anyone from the wheelchair contingent).
Mike's Bike Shop is on Pico Blvd., just west of Carmona Ave.
