Okay. I'm saying goodbye to all of you. FOR REAL THIS TIME. I have a plane ticket to Florida for Monday at 10 a.m.
I want everyone to know that this group of people has changed my life in so many positive ways. I will miss you.

Tern, thank you for being an amazing friend and ride leader while i was unemployed and addicted to wow. Badger was the best thing that's ever happened to me. I wouldn't be riding if i hadn't met you - hope you find what you need in FL and come back soon! Will miss you lots.

So, here's an update, everyone. I have all of the things I am shipping out packed and ready to mail. I still have some stuff in the shed of the house I used to rent....and I will be going through it tomorrow to figure out what I will donate and what I will give away to all of you. Time won't wait on me anymore, so I am making it happen.

I'm here! Everything is really beautiful in it's own way. I am living in a great place. There is a nature preserve behind the house, with great blue herons, hawks, buzzards, woodpeckers, racoons, squirrels, all sorts of small birds and opossums. I'm sure there are a bunch of other types of animals out there. On the other side of the house is an access river to the intracostal waterway. The beach near the house is called Coco beach. There is a port for barges and cruise ships a couple of miles down the road.
I really like it here, because it isn't super touristy. It's a coastal island that gets sidetracked by the disneyland set and the spring break college kids. I met a bicycle person last night while I was walking around (my bike won't arrive until Friday). As for social riding, I haven't found anything yet, but I'm sure it's around in some form. If there is nothing like that here, I'll start something.
I went to get my FL license the first day I was here, and yesterday I started the process to get my teaching credential. Today, I am job hunting. I have three fronts for this effort. First thing's first. I'm roaming around looking for a job...anything...coffee shop, home depot, grocery store, etc. And, in the evenings, I am applying for jobs that take a bit longer to get...like headstart teaching, private school teaching positions, etc. I am also going through the process to become a substitute teacher out here...and to find contract jobs at the local school distict.
The terrain here isn't so bad for riding. There actually are hills...they just aren't big hills. So, I am looking forward to exploring.
