Rogue Ride V - Country Club Tour
Thread started by
Hal at 02.4.09 - 4:29 am
You are cordially invited to one of West Los Angeles' most anticipated bicycle events:
Dress in your finest polo shirt and plaid shorts and meet at eight sharp in Virginia Park at the corner of Pico Blvd and Cloverfield in Santa Monica. Immediately commencing at nine will be a brisk stroll through Los Angeles' wealthiest zip codes and most exclusive golf courses. Following the ride will be a private wine and cheese party near Virginia Park with a crackling wood fire.
Please be aware that this will be a moderate to challenging ride with steep hills and windy roads. This is
not a fast ride, we will all stick tightly together. However, there will be terrain and conditions not usually encountered on party rides.
We advise you to bring a lightweight and/or geared bike, spare tube, tools, a pump, and a bottle of Charles Shaw.
pay no attention to the man behind the postings above - remember who the "great" Wizard of OZ turned out be. yea.
i am super excited about this ride. the route is really about the places we've scouted. and getting there will be an adventure - YEA!
afterward, we'll be partying until the sun comes up for the very last time at Hal's studio - yeayeayeayea!
er.. yea to the power of yeayeayea!

Everyone is invited. It's just a tough route with some hills and some windy roads, so I wouldn't recommend it to first-timers or people who don't ride often.

You seem like a nice guy, Hal. Since you are affiliated with it, I must assume that this ride must not be part of the Core Elite (R) so I am therefore giving you a pass.
I am just concerned that the Core Elite (R) threatens the cohesion of the Midnight Ridazz. As the founding fathers would attest, FACTION is a dangerous thing, especially within a rapidly growing organization.
But we'z all RIDAZZ, and we'z all here to have FUN or F-U-N, and be as inclusive as possible in doing so. I hope i see you on the ride, Hal, and when i do...will you rub my belly?

i'm looking forward to this ride, if the organizers will have me. i totally went-refresh junky today. i'm trying to quit, finding other hobbies, like riding bikes--but it's hard!
i would much rather make loldogs all day than telemarketing. as we all know, it's much easier to get away with a quick hit of MR.com than opening a book or reading a news article. it's downright irresistable.
perhaps Rougue Ride 6 will be the "Iain is a douchebag" ride. And I'll be excited to go to that one too, cuz Sara does know how to plan awesome rides.

Substitute Internet where applicable.
An addiction is any behavior that meets at least three of the seven criteria during the same 12-month period.
1. Tolerance. Has your use of drugs or alcohol increased over time?
2. Withdrawal. When you stop using, do you experience at least one of the following symptoms: irritability, anxiety, shakes, sweats, nausea, or vomiting?
3. Difficulty controlling your use. Do you sometimes use more or for a longer time than you'd like? Do you drink to get drunk?
4. Negative consequences. Have you continued to use even though there have been negative consequences to your mood, self-esteem, health, job, or family?
5. Significant time or emotional energy spent. Do you spend a significant amount of time or thought obtaining, using, concealing, planning, or recovering from your use?
6. Put off or neglected activities. Have you given up or reduced social, recreational, work, or household activities because of your use?
7. Desire to cut down. Have you repeatedly thought about cutting down or controlling your use, or have you made unsuccessful attempts to cut down or control your use?

HAL did most of the route - he found all the cool spots we are riding to. HAL gets just as much credit! plus, we are ending the ride at his Studio - the last BIG party there EVER!
this route is insane.
we will NOT be going ROBOTZ nor F'N fast.
we will stay together this time, or ridazz will get lost.
the idea of this route is to get to our DESTINATIONS.
they are sick. and secret. and incredilbly awesome.
we are riding to places no ride i have ever been on has travelled to.
be ready.
there is a giant hill we will climb. but i bet my gearless ass i will be walking up halfway, but the top is where it's at!
we will have a pace car as there are some roads i want to make sure all ridazz are heavily protected.
this is gonna be sweet.
be ready.
if it rains.. i'll call it - for safety - and then we'll party anyway at HAL'S STUDIO!
yeayeayeayea!

yes. but i'll call it. if it rains all day and stops at 7pm then we ride and party. if not, we party anyway. the roads have to be dry to go where we are going!

WAS FUCKING AMAZING!
Such a great route. The best! The streets, the hills, the houses, the cliffs, the country club, the halo around the MOON! Beautiful night. Beautiful ride.
THANK YOU for organizing it!!

It was sooo much fun to put together. I was a little worried about some of the route, but it all worked out supa-fuckin'-awesome.
And a HUGE thanks to my girlfriend Liz for following behind us in the car to make sure that nobody rear-ended us on some of those blind corners on sunset, and for picking up riders who had breakdowns. (It would have sucked to be stranded in some of those places)

This ride was truly truly definitely deserving of the word: EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hal, Sara, thanks for all your work to put this together. Tons & tons & tons of fun & good vibes all thru the night.
And OMG, yes a ginormous THANK YOU to Liz for rescuing me & my ill bicicleta.
I loved so much about this ride - the exhilarating windy downhills, the killer uphills, the awesome stops, the ring around the moon, the ocean view, the country club escapade, the after funs, all the fantastically awesome ridazz. : D
