Hey, any westies want to ride on Friday?
My peeps are leavin' the rings by the pier around 5, riding out to the brewery downtown for dinner and a few rounds of $2 PBR on tap before heading to the start point in chinatown.
Anyone want to meet up on the way? The route is just about as flexible as I am at this point so we'd be happy to swing your way. I'm leaving my 105 tooth chainring at home for this ride so unless everyone wants to ride fast, we plan on cruising.

Anyway, we can do a meet-up on Venice Blvd. and La Cienga, say around 6 ???
There's a liquor store there, it's perfect for a pit stop and a great place to pick up ridazz not coming from the beach (but from work).

we are riding to the brewery artist colony downtown for dinner and maybe a few drinks at barbara's (the little restaurant/bar in the middle)
then we are riding to the start point for the tie dye ride

Well, perhaps I could plan on doing a ride-to-a-ride-to-a-ride!!
Seeing as how I've yet to encounter any MountieBellians or, Industrial-hub scum for that matter, I hope to be heading Westward by 5, or 6.

the brewery was the first place in LA that made any sense. it's a great ride and barbara's is excellent for a cheap fleuzy of a beer (and the Golden Monkey).
highly reccomend a ride to a ride to a ride!

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I moved out here from NY. They have a couple sets of them in riverside park in manhattan that I tried to mess with but the rings were small, the chains were short, and the poles were too close together.

I'll have a definite fix on something by tommorrow afternoon.

Spidey... then you know this guy who has a beautiful lil daughter and goes by the name of filcheboy on myspace, this guy owns a condom online shop. his lil girl, well now a lil teenager does this stuff too and digs it and shows promising potential. Her dad is amazing on these things. I gather you've met many of the others in that community of swingers and you've prolly met my ex-girlfirend and still a fond friend MANDI. Those rings are a great break from cycling and great upper body strength trainning guys. we shoudl do rides to the rings to do the rings!!!!

Yes, I know Chris (filcheyboy) and Cassia (his daughter) and I've met Mandi. However, I don't swing on sundays. The machismo chest thumping is too obnoxious when the giant clique all comes out to show off. It would be less annoying if any of them impressed me with anything other than their ability to bite my style... and even that's pretty rare. I stick to the night time when there aren't any crowds and I don't have to worry about people copying my moves to impress naive beach goers. It's all about the workout, the joy of swinging, and the self-awareness that comes without all the spectatorship. You should come swing at night with me and Undercover Bob sometime. He's usually the only other guy out there when I am.

Yeah dude, it's a great break from cycling. Last month Venice Critical Mass went to the rings for a while. I'd like to see more rides make that a destination. I know I've ditched a few los angelopes and crank mob rides to get my swing on for a bit and then join back up. If you come to The Passion of the Bike in a couple of weeks, we'll be starting and finishing the ride at the rings.

However, I'm still trying to discern where that 15 bucks I had in my pocket a week ago, went to.
