Box Wine

This is the perfect bike drink as we discovered this weekend, it comes in a light and very easy to carry 5 Liter container which consists of a thick heavy duty bag of fine spirits within a protective corrugated cardboard box! This combination is virtually shock proof, and very resistant to punctures. You can throw it at douchebags, pick it up of of their knocked out bodies and keep quaffing with no problem.
Also no more destroyed cell phones (or in my case expensive camera gear) after one of the flimsy aluminum cans in your bags decides to spring a leak.
5L of wine is the equivelent of 6.66 bottles of traditional heavy, breakable, and let's face it expensive wine bottles. That should be more than enough to get one or even 1 and 1.33 people drunk over the course of a ride.
It's portable, safe, light, and damnit it's fun. I've replace all of my liquids with box wine, and I think you should too, join the Evolution!

Bag-in-box beer exists too, though I have only seen 25L from Ankerbrau.

Sorry for the interuption. Please return to talking about PC's favorite type of wine.

Oh of course I have, my mom used to drink it all the time. However I never really connected it's value as a portable drinking solution.

One drawback, too much FRANZ wine gives me a wicked headache the next day!
And the more I drink of it, the less I remember about the first statement.

I remember when they advertised the dick out of this tasty shit on TV.
Pouring from that plastic tap and being pimped out like it was something special.
I'll admit I'm a bit of a light-weight when it comes to th brew, but for some odd-reason, fine-wine tends to go down freely.
.........Waits for mob-tension to grow after light-weight admission....

i call boxed wine placenta when its out of the box, its like hauling around your amniotic sac, except it gets you drunk, instead of nourishing you as a fetus

Watch everyone be running around with boxes of Franz on the next ride. It will be hilarious. We should get their marketing department to fly out and do a photoshoot.

I have many fond memories from early childhood, courtesy of box wine. Seriously... When I was a kid, we used to play with those mylar wine bags all the time. My mom would bring home the empties from work, and my brother and I would inflate them to use as toys, weapons, whatever. They were a blast.
Also, speaking of blasts, our neighbor would occasionally entertain people at gatherings by filling up old wine bags with acetylene, attaching some dynamite fuse and then setting of the loudest explosions I've ever witnessed firsthand.
Rural Idaho FTW!
(my god, I never thought I'd be responsible for arranging those words in that fashion)
Anyway, the only boxed wine I've ever
drank has been stuff I got for 50 cents a liter in Spain. It was surprisingly not foul. How's the Franzia?

Unfortunately I'm not, I'll be at work till 7 on the west side. I might hit up Taco Tuesdays afterwards. Actually, I have an embarassing admission - I've never been on a ride in the valley. I have no clue of what's a good way to get there. I'm thinking just ride up Sepulveda?

@Graham Franzia tastes like trailer park trash? Ew. And for the record, we lived in an underground house like the hobbits in Lord of the Rings. If anything, we were hippie refugee trash.

Every time I shared fluids on MR rides I ended up with some flu or another a couple days later.
Maybe you are immune. I'm sticking to individually apportioned containers.
