black snot

after riding all weekend, I noticed my boogers have a dark tint.
like it was caused by all the exhaust and smog.
I'm not sick, and my nose is not runny.
anyone else notice dark colored boogers?

I read (the first chapter and only the first chapter) of a Hatha yoga book that suggested snorting and blowing out warm water in the morning.
I try to do it every day in the shower, snort up some water and blow all that shit out. You aren't supposed to do it more than twice a day.
I think it helps.
On the other hand I am perpetually congested in this city.
Pretty soon we'll all be rocking the Beijing style.

I would always get that unloading at UPS. Pretty gross... but that was in a trailer... amazing that you got that from on the streets. That's why you should never trim your nose hair!!

I remember putting this bumper-sticker onto the back of a Swift-trailer when I drove for them.

Then there was that line from that one song on Ludacris' "Word of Mouf" cd,

If you saw what I see you would want to move away. When I work as a lighting tech for T.V. sometimes I go up a 100ft in a lift with a 20k light. The light is so powerful it shows all the junk in the air. it looks like metalic snow. We breath that everyday all the time.
Eat your vegitables and make sure to SMOKE POT as much as possible. Canibus is the best for cleaning your lungs as it works as an expectorant. It makes you chough up all the crap you breath,and is a great painkiller for endurance riding. No brain No pain.

The bes cure for black booger is riding wolfback the night after a good rain ... that ride always gets my nose running.
And the air is never cleaner here than after a good rain and some wind.

When I spraypainted my trophies for the poker ride, which are only a few square inches so I barely used any paint, my snot was the same color as the paint for like a day. I'm using a mask next time.

Another reason why the 40+mph winds up here bother me, all the fucking rag-weed blown into the air and clogging up my nostrils.
Variable training conditions my ass!!!
Anybody who thinks training in dirty-wind is beneficial must use a used vacuum bag as a respirator.

riding in the valley the past two nights have wrecked havoc on both my snot and my eyes. I got home last night with black rings around my eyes. I woke up this morning breathing out inky blackness.
anybody else experiencing this, and are you concerned about your health?

yes, i noticed this too!
i had a bandana over my face because it was cold, so i didnt really notice my lungs hurting or whatever, but there was tons of nasty black stuff around my eyes. liz said it looked like soot or something. is there a fire somewhere that i dont know about?

There is a fire in Anaheim Hills but I think its all the dirt and ash from the most recent station fire I think. My eyes were watery too... I noticed the dust on the roads being lit up by oncoming cars. I need to get eyewear/clear lenses..

I like when that happens. Every time I paint I pick my nose at the end of the day and admire all the colors. I have a canvas with all different colored boogers. :)

nekked hillz and wind= valley dustbowl of dust. im in sylmar. theres shit everywhere. give it another day or 2 and there will be little piles of sand and crap piling up randomly on the roads.

As for salt I believe any will do. I've used both kosher and non with no significant difference in results.

i've got really bad allergies and have noticed it being worse lately. i've always got black snot from riding through this filthy air. what dedicated818 posted about herb is kinda true. i used to hock up nasty blackish luggies every now and then and i knew my body was cleansing itself so to speak. since i've stopped smoking on a daily basis all this crap just seems to cake on.
