My bike is on the van. So I have a vested interest. According to Rambod they are bringing an 8 passenger van and a bike trailer. But that was in another thread, not this one.

when does the van plan on getting into New Orleans?
The reason I ask is how we can get our bags from the train station to the house.
I can bring a trailer, but if Jeff is not going to have his bike. Maybe he could take a cab and we could put our bags in it or the van if it is in town already can pick him and our luggage up.

I got an 8 passenger van. I'm hoping not to use the trailer. Between bike racks, taking the last row out, and tyring some bikes to the roof, i think we will be good

Let us know how many extra bikes you can bring. That way we may help you offset the cost by transporting bikes.

We can take a lot of extra bikes at this point since there are only 6 confirmed in a 15 seater van. by giving us your bike to transport, you're helping marginalized riders.

So let me get it straight... it's $250 total before other expenses such as food and drinks and what not, which translates to $50 for gas (roundtrip) and $200 for the lodging?

Lodging is separate.
Gas is going to cost approx $900 and you have to factor the van rental on top of that.

PS. 15 riders X $50 per person = $750 (which is where my assumption comes from)
And I thought the lodging cost Ms. Stephanie an average of $150-$175 per rider (considering the same 15 riders were staying in the house. Oh, and the house can only take 15 riders in total as well, correct?)

In the main NOLA thread Roadblock was saying minimum of $150 per person in the van. $900 for gas plus the van isn't cheap. Also, the more bikes that are carried on the van at $25 each way the cheaper it will be for people riding in the van.

They are saying $250 for the van. It will be less the more people that go, so keep in touch with the van coordinator for updates.
I don't even know if there is room in the house for you at this point. You would have to check with Ms. Stephanie on that. If it is the high number of 18 people it should be around $90, yet I'm not sure, check with her.
Your spending habits are you own. Do you want to eat and drink. You know your habits and how much that will be.
