chainring size

apparently the chainring on my fixie is huge
what size should I get?

It's probably easier / cheaper to get a larger cog ring, as that way you don't have to worry about BCD and all that other nonsense.
It doesn't matter what size a chainring is, as long as the ratio is reasonable (e.g. slightly less than 3/1 for most road riding, 3/1 or greater for track, around 2.25-2.5-1 for MTBs/cyclocross). You can also look up "gear inches" on SheldonBrown.com for more info.
If you have a 52 tooth chainring, you'd probably want around an 18 tooth cog for street riding.

Your chainiring is huge? I'm looking for a 63 cuz I'm shooting for 100 gearinches and all that.

apparently, you didnt know what you were getting yourself into....
just ride what you got and get stronger quicker... ride when people arent looking and then when you show up with your 42:20 gearing.... people will be impressed.

BTW, alot of peeps ignore their beer ratios too. Don't fall into that trap.

At 60 rpm I'll be going 20mph. Can't beat that kind of mash.
