i was really jazzed about going to get a wheelset. i talked to the guy but i am having some doubts. did some searching found another posting by the guy. i can't put my finger on it maybe because i don't have anything to put it on or maybe something just isn't right.

 trust your gut, trust your instincts. these are not the only wheel sets out there.
If it don't seem right, it probably isn't. Maybe your subconscious can see it but your conscious mind can't. In the future you'll be able to figure out what your seeing, these things take time to understand.

I would go over anyways and see if you can figure out what you are feeling. You can change your mind when you get over there, you don't have to buy, you can look and decide they are not right for you. Or maybe you go over there and what you are thinking is slight paranoia. If that is the case, I would just suggest don't buy when you first go over. Come home and think about it, sleep on it, and then make up your mind.

 I read some shit on how people are most satisfied with gut, impulse buys. It's nearly independent of price, context, etc. It does however, also make the converse true: if your gut is all 'meh' you will not be happy with your purchase. If you're feeling it, you're feeling it, if you're not, move on. I think trusting your gut is pretty smart with used/craigslist type purchases. Then again, I got a thing for stolen goods ;)

 good thing, if they're stolen, you can really talk down the price. And if you're worried about someone recognizing the frame, I know this guy who is real good with tape and re-branding.

 he might just know the true value of bikes parts, unlike most craigslist sellers.

i wouldn't pay more than $100 for those wheels. "older" could easily mean 15 years or older.

 the hubs where manufactured in '97. i would assume the wheelset are around 13 years old.
