i think the real questions is, depends how much you're paying for it.

i think on the price scale, its comparable to tiagra's of shimano. they don't sell the group retail, but its for OEM's and bike shops to build entry level road bikes.

I also think campagnolo has a good track record with most of their groupsets.

Daytona was the old name for centaur, which makes it third from the top. I used it on my first road bike and it was pretty great

Mike,

on any of this stuff. GO out and try it. You have enough experience on a bike to know if you like something or not on a first try. Oh it will take is you going out and taking the time and money to go look at it.

I don't know anything about campy stuff.

As regards to price. You may always find something cheaper if you wait, but that may be a crap shot.

Look at the Ventura Craigslist. there is treasure at there on occasion.

sexy dave

yeah, i can go out and test it, ride it out but im always worried about low quality things crapping out on me in the long run. plus, since its a used older group i want to make sure newer parts are compatible and not too expensive.

my old 105 set up was awesome until the cassette lost a few teeth. i was never able to find something close to it. that ended up with me converting my bike.

knahmean?

hows uncle nick?

sorry, I don't have any info of the question you ask.

I know what you are saying. That is why I try to stay away from certain older, more used parts, such as STI levers and hubs and anything with teeth.

Thanks for asking about my Dad.
