WHO
3rd Street Hooligans and YOU

WHAT
Chill paced (10-15mph) ride from Downey to Cerritos to loop around and come back through Bellflower and
back through North Downey then back to our spot. Total distance is only 21 miles, but it's a chill ride. We took
a break for a few weeks, but now we're back and we hope with greater numbers! Let's take the streets
people, we own them, at night! We'll take designated breaks around the Cerritos Mall, Downey Hospital, etc.

WHEN
4 May 2011, meet at 7:00pm roll out at 7:30

WHERE
Meet at 8200 3rd Street, Downey, CA 90241

WHY
For fun, for friends, for bikes!

HOW
Fixed and road preferred because of the pace, but all types of bikes are welcome as long as they can keep
up!

ROUTE

Here's the ROUTE.


THIS ROUTE CAN CHANGE AT ANY TIME, SO FOLLOW THE LEADERS.

BE SMART
1. FOLLOW THE LEADER(S)!
I can't stress this enough. People get lost all the time and it's because they think they need to go super fast.
Leaders set the pace, people who jump ahead get lost. If you like to go fast and that's not our pace then pick
another ride.

2. NO PERSON LEFT BEHIND!
Unless you violate the rule above, then we have no problem letting you get lost. So basically, stay behind us!

3. UNDER 18 WEAR A HELMET!
If you're a minor and we get pulled over, you're going to get a ticket and possibly your bike taken away, so
just wear a helmet. We don't check IDs, but you will be punished by the law if we get pulled over.

4. NIGHT RIDES REQUIRE FRONT AND BACK LIGHTS!
This is for your safety and if you're intelligent you'll ride at night with lights on the front and the back. Don't
have lights, don't ride with us at night, simple as that!

5. NO EGOS!
If you're the kind of person that needs to flaunt what they ride and make others feel bad, if you're a hipster, if
you're a douchebag, then find another ride! We don't take shit on our rides and not only will you be kicked off
our rides everyone will probably kick you off your bike. We're about building a fun group/community based on
cycling not about, who has spent thousands on their bikes just to make others feel inferior.

6. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
Unless you fit into the rule above, you are welcome to come out and ride with us. We don't care what race,
religion, color, creed, gender or sexual orientation you are. We are an inclusive group, not exclusive.

7. NO DRUGS / ALCOHOL / GRAFFITI (TAGGING)!
Simple, you drink or do drugs or tag, that's fine, but don't do it on our rides! Our rides are sober, clean and
non-violent. If we want people and cops to respect us then we have to respect them back by being
responsible riders. If this is lame to you then don't come out, we are only about cycling, friends and the purity
of the sport -- we're not about getting wasted, high and falling off our bikes or getting hit by a car.

8. DON'T BRING ON THE COPS!
If you do something to bring the cops attention to us i.e. no lights, riding against traffic, mocking them or being
violent then don't be on our ride! If we do get pulled over, shut the hell up and let the ride leaders do the
talking, keep your hands out of your pockets and present ID when asked. The best way to get off without
any charges is to show a police officer a ton of respect and obeying what they ask of you, that's usually all
they want and they'll leave you alone.

9. BRING TOOLS, TUBES, PUMPS, ETC.
If you have them, bring tools, tubes, pumps or etc. If there's a flat we'll stop for you and help you out, but if
you don't have a tube, we can't really help other than a patch.


If these rules seem too difficult to follow, then maybe our rides aren't for you. It's no big and we're not
offended we just have differences of opinion.

We just want to have fun, not go to jail and ride!
