good bars,cheap living,hot lesbians,dog beach,grand prix,little cambodia,fake island apartments.plus its the most layed back,inclusive,town where people actually get along.all races,genders, sexual orentation,ages,incomes...........

tuesday and thursday 9:30 ish at the pyramid in csulb. called wildlife
they post on la fixed
wensday at 9:00 ish in-n-out burgers pch & westminister polar rollers they ride and drink its fun.
and i think there is one that meets at the LBFG store on first & linden downtown
then on monday you have the choice between cerritos and margarita mondays in costa mesa [fun]

I live in Cypress, just east of LBC.
It's cool that I'm starting to see other ridazz when I'm doing my local cycle routes.
I'm too old and free wheeled to hang with most of the local fixed gear rides (I tried, really, I tried), but the cycling activity down here is exciting, even if I don't ride much with them.

i grew up in lb and i know believe me i know, but when i started riding fixed noone else did then i moved to la, and moved home now a year later and its blowing up massive..

soooo true...lived there from 2004-2008. all of a sudden in 2008 I'm looking around, "where the FUCK did all these BMX'd out road bikes come from?!" it seriously just exPLODED over a couple months time...then I went to CSULB to ride around last fall...saw TONS of fixies locked up to the racks outside the dorms...there were NONE when I lived there. and you can tell they are fucking posers cuz no one who actually cared about their bikes would leave nice bikes like these ones (motobecanes/iros) locked up outside at the beach. rust fucking factory come on people.

i noticed the fixie fixation right around after Christmas, that's when they all came out. some guy at my school (csulb) was unlocking his new bike as i was unlocking mine and he needed to talk about how we both had A FIXED GEAR BIKE! so he was like, umm whats your gear ratio with this huge grin on his face. it was kind of cute.
