aside from some lucas brunelle shit, fixed gear videos are fucking stupid.
its just full of kooky ass skids and some dude doing a snake run in a park or going up and down a bank.
i hate "artistic" cycling as well but at least that's somewhat interesting.
these fucking fixed gear videos are just a compilation of lifestyle shots.
it's like watching an episode of the OC but with bikes.

What a loser... micro-drivetrains, pshhh...riding around with little chain wrap, wearing out his cogs, chain and chainring quicker for no reason, then to just look cool, or lighten up his whip.
Im so glad you pointed this out... Kims1 is wack-city. I needed to know this about him sooo bad.
I cant believe he pushes a practical and very good all-around 3:1 gear ratio. I bet he is able to climb quit a few hills, and still keep from spinning too much on the downhills...

Kims1, while youre obviously going to upgrade due to this forum pressure///dont forget Aerospokes. Those are completely necessary for riding in los angeles... especially with all the head on wind... and lack of bicycle theft... plus riding Time trials on your way to jr. college is necessary for some, or a few laps at the local velodrome during lunch break...

By the way Kims1, though Im on your side... Chainring and cog does matter... not just for ratios.
More chain wrap decreases the likelihood of chain derailment and your equipment will last longer.
Pushing a 13th (which i have and sometimes do), means that you having only like 2 or 3 cog teeth engaged with the chain at a time (i dont know for certain, but its a very small amount). Im trying to visualize. This is not a problem really on flat los angeles... but when you hit hills... it could be a big issue. Definitely need good chain tension, but the tension you want, is usually best served if you have a larger rear cog
