KPFK sticker and CICLE stikers on tube.
I had set the bike up for a sound system (which thankfully was not on it) to lead our series of encouragement rides, the kick off ride being this morning, our annual Toys and Mittens ride benefiting Hathaway-Sycamores Child and Family Services services.
Any help in locating this bike would be much appreciated.
It's also my daily rider and am not in the best financial situation as of late, the thief took it right under my nose around 11PM, his/her timing was the worse. Not the way to start a benefit ride huh, I will keep up my best , but my heart is a little sunk. It was a fairly daring burglary, and that makes it really creepy.
Oh well, I am now "experienced" shall we say.

Glassel Park near 40th and Eagle Rock area. DUh forgot to mention that.
It's a mat black finish, may or may not have a silver double kick stand. I just put that on to steady the weight of the sound system.
Alos may or may not have a small mic mount on the stem, basically a silver plate with a threaded section to screw a mic onto.
Someone grabbed it from our carport while we were at home, and standing just a few feet away, just on the other side of the kitchen door. We had probably left the bike unattended for at most 15 minutes, in our carport.This is not an exaggeration. Everyone, do consider locking up your bikes, even when you’re at home. It’s not a good feeling to walk out your door and see that your daily ride is gone. We are very carelfull, have pit bulls who were in the house but didn't notice...which was strange. and the person could see into our kitchen to make sure we weren't looking for the few minutes he had before we noticed. The bike was 8 feet away from all glass kitchen door, were our dog jack was lying down.

Aw shucks, I will tell you that all your kind comments make up for the loss. And many have offered to hook me up with a new ride to which makes me feel very loved.
The ride went really well and cheered me up and I am going to bed and later will be securing my digs, so it doesn't happen again.
Again the loss is minor, but the creepy factor was yuck! I told the dogs that if the let that shit happen again, I am not going to cover them with their blankets in the middle of the night when they come off.
Yes i cover my Pittbulls with blankets...word, some Pits are just too damn lazy to be mean.
I will also try and load up a better pic. But I am now off to bed.

Hey all, don't worry about my bike too much...I will put up better info on it in a bit, but right now I would hate for anyone to think they saw my bike and it end up being a mistake that gets heated with an innocent person. I am not so bummed about it anymore. Like I said it was really just scary feeling. But all you kindness again makes up for the loss.
You should see our house it is now full of bikes and tools...and dirty dishes : P

about 6 months ago milton bought a 600 dollar GT, disk brakes, red, and it was stolen from his "gated" back yard, ya...lock those BIKES UP!

That is the big lesson here. I took for granted that because we have dogs, because we were home, because the hillside is steep and has no close road access without trudging through lose dirt for a long ways and because etc... etc... reasons, it wouldn't really be a problem.
We were basically able to look right out our glass doo and see my bike just 8 feet away, we could see anyone entering and the person(s) basically had to watch one of us leave the Kitchen for a minute and get that bike out of the carport and out our two gates (which are just feet away, and then climb a slippery muddy steep hillside.
And so they did.
So yup lock dem bikes up folks.

Welcome to the club. The circumstances that you got your bike stolen are very common, I hear them almost on a daily basis at my shop. When you're at home you let your guard down, happens all the time.
If you need some junkers to make a new bike, feel free to hit me up I have way more than I need right now. I can also help you weld up a new trailer (if it's steel).
I'd look at the local homeless/crackheads for your bike as it would be ideal for them. But don't get your hopes up, in my experience, it's most likley gone forever.

If you end up hooking up a good frame, bring it by the Bike Oven. We'll be glad to help you out with a little something extra for you ride. We;ve got some okay spare parts in the shop now (all used, of course) but still worth a look.

pal of mine had his bike ganked CHAINED TO AN IRON FENCE ON MAIN ST. SANTA MONICA IN BROAD DAYLIGHT - THEY CUT AND MADE OFF WITH THE ENTIRE FENCE PANEL. Bike was insured though so dude got his dough - makes me think it was an inside job...

Time to implement a "fingerprint" recognition handlebar.
Wire this puppy up to a device that locks the bottom bracket up after 1 mile.
Watch as would-be thief takes a dive and starts crying like a lil' bitch!!
And if he tries to run off with it, hex-nuts in various places will blow off after another 10minutes.
Your bicycle is now all over the street, but the thief is now too broken-hearted to pick up the pieces.
But, if you happened to be following, or had an optional, GPS tracker on the bike, you find it.
Then take it home and reassemble into one piece.
And if you want to let your friend ride the bike, disable the "recall-device".
Way too many bikes are getting jacked each day and it's time to draw the line.
Stolen cars should stay at the bottom of a river.
A bicycle should be reclaimed and rechristened!!!

Aw thanks for the offers and again kindness. Yeah we let our guard down totally. Some good stuff is coming out of it, which I will elaborate more in an article for CICLE. Sometimes sucky things come into your life to connect you more to others. You know I don't always post comments here, don't always feel like a have a chance to stop and take part more, and yet this gave me the courage so to speak to ask for help (which is hard for me to do sometimes for myself).
I can ask for someone else or something else, but have a hard time saying I need some help. So it was a chance to do something uncomfortable, that made me feel selfish...which I know is silly, but then it was also a chance to meet some new peeps and connect and commiserate and feel sort of spoiled by the overwhelming generosity of others. I just can't thank you all enough, words are almost useless.
BTW, a very happy note... a friend of mine who loves to find bikes, fix them up for resale is gifting me the very same model that got snagged. So I am way happy, I loved that particular frame. I feel healed LOL
But again thanks for wanting to set me up, that is way cool and wonderful of you all!
