I'm adopting a pair of kittahs and im probably having small house warming party for them. anyways i just wanted to know the procedure if anyone could help me out... i know i need some toys, litterbox.. what i dont know about is the vaccinations and all that.. are there any free clinics or cheap ones ? these bebs need a home. they also have 2 siblings that need a home too.. they just recently opened their little eyes.

Awww I have two myself. Are you on the westside? I have the most awesome vet off lincoln. She taught me all about the vaccines and there are certain types that can give your cats cancer (well they all can but you have options). They have a series when they are young I think called something like fvrp..-im off but it's four letters and that's the important one. If they are going to be outdoor, then get the rabies. Mine are strictly indoor so they don't have that one.
You can get them microchipped at the shelter for 25 bucks in case they are ever lost- they can be scanned and you will be contacted.
I got mine fixed at like 11 weeks of age- as long as the vet says they weigh enough, it's better to get it done early.
I am going on and on but I hope you enjoy them. Just don't give them cheap friskies crap food. My old cat got kidney stones from the really cheap food. Also a lot of food brands do cruel animal testing- that's why I go with the all natural foods that are not tested on animals.

I might have to take up an offer on another kitty... Jetta will probably eat it, but you never know, I think she might actually enjoy some company. Anyway, I'll be there.

syoma, hit me up, i used to foster litters of kittens in the valley so i know where to get the cheapest stuff and also how to deal with kittens that young. theres a really good vet that cheaper since shes really into helping the shelter animals right near you at oxnard and lankershim. anyway, email me and ill totally help you out.

i just typed this huge thing and lost it.. but to sum it up
keep your cats indoor only as its safer for them and then they wont need nearly as many vaccines which arnt great for them either. they really only need FVCRP which is a 3-in-one and it wouldnt be bad to get them for tested for feline leukemia either.
also if you declaw ill never speak to you again, and microchipping will probably be smart. if they get lost they'll forever have your contact in formation and it doesnt hurt them at all.
dont let the vets force you to give them vaccines as they'll try, but ive had so many people tell me that they only need fvcrp, especially vets that do the clinics for the rescue animals.
wait till their five months then get them fixed, it allows their bodies to adjust more, but dont wait later then that bc the last thing you need are spraying/howling.
also you're a chef syoma so dont feed them that bad byproduct shit like iams and purina.. feed them the good stuff like wellness, natural balance, maxcat, etc.
this makes me seem like the biggest cat lady and i dont even have my own cat...
